Leno: Favre, Tiger, and Marriage

JAY LENO: According to a new study by Michigan State University scientists, marriage reduces, marriage reduces bad behavior in men. I was talking about this the other night when I had dinner with Tiger Woods and Brett Favre. We were all discussing this.

Leno: Tiger Woods, Bridgestone Invitational

JAY LENO: The good news-- it was in the 70s and 80s today. The bad news-- that was also Tiger Woods' golf score. What happened? Did you see this?

At the Bridgestone Invitational golf tournament over the weekend, Tiger Woods finished 18 over par, his worst score ever. The last time Tiger hit that many trees he was trying to get out of his driveway. That's how bad.

In fact, it was so bad Nike changed its slogan from 'Just do it' to 'Just get it over with.'

It was so bad Tiger called Charles Barkley for tips. That's how bad it was.

It was so bad Tiger's wife said, 'For God's sakes, start dating again.'

SNL: Tiger Woods Ad

Here's video of Saturday Night Live's take on the Masters.

The mock Tiger Woods Nike ad is especially funny, at 3:09 on this clip.

VOICE OF TIGER WOODS' FATHER: Tiger, I know this goes without saying; but when I'm gone, please don't use my voice in a commercial. And if you do, please don't make it for a commercial trying to sell sneakers after a sex scandal. But you know that, right?

Tiger Woods: 'You Suck'

I agree with Tiger, though not in regard to his golfing. I think he sucks as a husband and father.

As far as taking God's name in vain, he broke a Judeo–Christian commandment. Tiger doesn't practice a religion in that tradition.

We know the guy is a serial adulterer and a total jerk, but I do feel a little bit sorry for him. Every single thing he says and does is being scrutinized. Is he a changed man? What did Tiger learn?

Who cares?

In general, I don't think it's a good idea for live coverage of a sporting event to have microphones pick up what the athletes are saying, to themselves or others.

Bill Maher and Tiger Woods, Democrats and Republicans

There are no limits to how low Bill Maher will go.

From Brent Baker, the Media Research Center:

In the midst of liberals condemning the tone of anti-Obama conservatives, Bill Maher on Friday pointed to a vulgar and sexually-explicit text message Tiger Woods reportedly sent, which promised aggressive sexual behavior, as representing the attitude Democrats should adopt from the “lying bullies of the right.”

Maher quoted from Woods: “I want to treat you rough, throw you around, spank and slap you and make you sore....I'm going to tell you to shut the f**k up while I slap your face and pull your hair for making noise.” Maher declared that “perfectly represents the attitude the Democrats should now have in their dealings with the Republican Party.” He prefaced his “New Rules” tirade:
Here's a word President Obama should take out of his Teleprompter: Bipartisanship. People only care about that in theory, not in practice. The best thing that happened this year is when Obama finally realized that and said: “Kiss my black ass, we're going it alone George W. Bush style.”

Maher descriptively contended “Democrats need to push the rest of their agenda while their boot is on the neck of the greedy, poisonous old reptile,” arguing: “We need to regulate the banks, we need to overhaul immigration, we need to end corporate welfare including at the Pentagon, we need to bring troops home from everywhere, we need to end the drug war...”

Video.

WARNING: Explicit language.

Where's the outrage from the Left about this crude, inflammatory, violent rhetoric?

Why isn't Maher accused of inciting hate and violence?

The liberals -- elected officials, media hacks, and the minions -- are hypocrites.

South Park: Tiger Woods

"South Park" to poke fun at Tiger Woods' infidelity

Tiger Woods, whose marital infidelity led to a firestorm of scandal, will be featured in next week's season-opening episode of the Comedy Central animated television show "South Park".

A teaser clip with the label "All The Temptations" promoting next Wednesday's first show of South Park's 14th season has already been viewed by more than 62,000 people according to a counter on the network's web site.

In the selection, an animated Woods stands at a podium much as the real one did last month in Florida when he made a public apology, speaking about how he felt he could get away with anything and deserved to enjoy "all the temptations around me."

Only at the end of the clip does the scene expand to show Eric Cartman, one of South Park's main characters, standing behind the cartoon Woods and looking up at him as he speaks.

The real Woods has taken an indefinite break from golf to work on his personal life in the wake of a scandal that saw more than a dozen women claim to have had affairs with the world's number one golfer.

There had been speculation Woods might return later this month but several reports, including one late Friday by the New York Times, say he will not make a comeback before next month's Masters.

If Woods did return for the year's first major championship at Augusta, Georgia, it would mean playing competitively for the first time in nearly five months in one of the game's most difficult tournaments.

Jimmy Fallon: Tiger Woods and Gatorade

JIMMY FALLON: At an auction in London on Friday, a 507-carat diamond, the size of a chicken egg, sold for $35 million. I just want to say, 'I hope it works, Tiger.'

Did you hear this? Gatorade just announced they're ending their relationship with Tiger Woods. Apparently, they made the decision after they checked his cell phone and found texts from Powerade and VitaminWater.

SNL: Tiger Woods, Gatorade

From Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update":

SETH MEYERS: Gatorade this week officially dropped Tiger Woods as their spokesperson after realizing that his thirst would never be quenched.

Tiger Woods' Apology - Lame

The spectacle of Tiger Woods' apology this morning was nauseating.

First, the pre-apology hype was ridiculous.

Second, I think it's crazy that Woods delivered this bizarre address at all.

Who wrote this one act play? How many times did he rehearse his performance? Did he work with an acting coach? A voice coach? If he did, he needs a lot more work.

Woods' apology was obviously a major production and a collaborative effort.

That's what makes apologies like these so, so lame.

It's not that I doubt his sincerity in terms of the substance of his remarks. I just think these public apology ceremonies are so weird.

I'm uncomfortable with the choreographed flagellation.

And then, of course, after Woods beats himself up, he whips out the victim card.

Woods' 1,542-word recitation easily could have been condensed to 6 words:

"I'm sorry. Feel sorry for me."

Woods' performance ended with a long hug from his mother.

At least Woods' wife wasn't standing next to him. That was a smart move. It drives me nuts when wives are dragged out as props during public apology ceremonies like this one.

The public forgives and forgets. In the final analysis, other than family and those directly involved in the Tiger Woods drama, does anyone really care? Has Woods' behavior dramatically impacted or destroyed anyone's life? I hope not.

Sure he's a role model for many; but if some golfer has more influence than the people -- role models -- individuals encounter in their own lives and personally interact with, there's a problem.

I do think Woods intends to return to golf much sooner than later.

This apology event, this media ritual, marks the beginning of his comeback.

TIGER WOODS: The issue involved here was my repeated irresponsible behavior. I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable. And I am the only person to blame. I stopped living by the core values that I was taught to believe in.

I knew my actions were wrong. But I convinced myself that normal rules didn't apply. I never thought about who I was hurting. Instead, I thought only about myself. I ran straight through the boundaries that a married couple should live by. I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, I didn't have far -- didn't have to go far to find them.

I was wrong. I was foolish. I don't get to play by different rules. The same boundaries that apply to everyone apply to me. I brought this shame on myself. I hurt my wife, my kids, my mother, my wife's family, my friends, my foundation, and kids all around the world who admired me.

I've had a lot of time to think about what I have done. My failures have made me look at myself in a way I never wanted to before. It is now up to me to make amends. And that starts by never repeating the mistakes I have made. It is up to me to start living a life of integrity.

I once heard -- and I believe it is true -- it's not what you achieve in life that matters, it is what you overcome. Achievements on the golf course are only part of setting an example. Character and decency are what really count. Parents used to point to me as a role model for their kids. I owe all of those families a special apology. I want to say to them that I am truly sorry.

It is hard to admit that I need help. But I do.

...I do plan to return to golf one day. I just don't know when that day will be. I don't rule out that it will be this year. When I do return, I need to make my behavior more respectful of the game.

...Finally, there are many people in this room and there are many people at home who believed in me. Today, I want to ask for your help. I ask you to find room in your hearts to one day believe in me again. Thank you.

No, Tiger. Thank you.

Lame.

Here's the video of Tiger Woods' full apology.

Jimmy Fallon: Tiger Woods and Toyota

JIMMY FALLON: Yeah, Toyota's had a rough month, but President Obama predicted that they will bounce back from the crisis. Didn't he say the same thing about Tiger Woods? He did. Maybe Tiger and Toyota should team up for a comeback with the slogan: 'Tiger and Toyota -- We swear we can stop.'
