Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday warned that vaccinated parents still need to worry about their children becoming infected while playing with other kids.

“The children can clearly wind up getting infected,” Fauci told CBS anchor Margaret Brennan on “Face the Nation” when asked about the risk of kids playing in groups.

The Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said while adults inoculated against COVID-19 don’t always have to wear masks around each other, children — who are not yet eligible for the jab — should wear them around each other.

This is nuts.

The overwhelming majority of children aren't at risk of becoming seriously ill with COVID. Now that adults in danger of becoming seriously ill are vaccinated thanks to President Trump and Operation Warp Speed, it's time for the government to get off our backs. In terms of the public health, children can interact normally with each other without endangering the vulnerable.

At this point, Fauci is an embarrassment. He's unreasonable. He lies and then expects people to trust him. He doesn't follow the science and then expects people to consider him a credible and reliable source of information.

Remember at the beginning of the AIDS epidemic when expert Fauci insisted the only way to get the virus under control was to ban sex and lockdown sexual activity until a vaccine was available?

I don't remember that either.
