The pro-Hamas students at Columbia and their radical outside agitator allies have unquestionably crossed beyond peaceful protest mode by smashing windows and occupying Hamilton Hall.

This looks quite insurrection-y.
It was such an obvious mistake to let the pro-Hamas protesters spit in the face of authorities and engage in "negotiations" with them. It was so spineless for Columbia administrators to permit deadline after deadline to pass with no consequences for the defiers. These thugs, whether Columbia students or outside agitators, should be held criminally responsible for their law-breaking. Depending on the degree of their violations, students should be suspended or expelled.
