Nice job, Gov. DeSantis!
I like the name change. Why not? It makes sense. It's way more inclusive than "Gulf of Mexico," and more accurate. That area of the Atlantic Ocean borders more than Mexico. It's not the "Gulf of the United States of America."
Hundreds of years ago, the gulf was called "Golfo de Nueva España," the gulf of New Spain. Names change. America is a name embraced by North Americans, South Americans, Central Americans.
Besides, if Democrats get away with calling the slaughter of babies "reproductive health care," or people in our country illegally "undocumented," I don't see why "Gulf of America" is a problem.
