Texas Democrats are now fleeing the state in order to block a vote on new Congressional maps

Remember when Wisconsin Democrats went AWOL in 2011?
These stunts are pointless. They highlight Democrats as lawless, refusing to do their jobs and play by the rules. I suppose running away appeals to the goofy Dem base, but the electorate overall doesn't like being held hostage.
