I watched Shane Gillis deliver his SNL monologue live. I wasn't offended and didn't think twice about it. Later on the show, Gillis accidentally dropped an f-bomb during a sketch. He apologized multiple times, live. Fast forward to the following day. A family member says Gillis is getting a lot of criticism for last night's show. I was surprised, thinking that was unwarranted. I thought the outrage was over the f-bomb, but learned it was about his monologue. I asked, "What was wrong with the monologue?" Nothing had struck me as particularly problematic at the time. Rewatching it, I guess he was a bit graphic. Bottom line: Gillis mocked women dressing like whores at the gym. So? I wasn't offended. As David Spade suggests, relax. It's comedy. Enough already.David Spade is pushing back against the outrage surrounding Shane Gillis' controversial "SNL" monologue, telling critics to "relax" after the comedian sparked backlash for mocking women's gym attire. Spade and fellow "SNL" alum Dana Carvey are defending the right to tell jokes that push boundaries, even when audiences don't find them funny. Spade also takes aim at what he sees as a glaring Hollywood double standard: https://t.co/ZQDhg3URNA
