Of course, Trump is coddling the KKK and neo-Nazis, especially given his family ties. That's understandable, right? It makes sense that he would be sympathetic to the neo-Nazi and KKK mindset, right? Right?

We're witnessing an absolutely unhinged meltdown. People are going crazy.

We need to direct our disgust at the neo-Nazis and the white supremacists and Antifa. We need to marginalize them in every way possible to keep them on the fringe of our society, where such extremists belong. We need to express our outrage over James Alex Fields Jr.'s choice to slam his car into a crowd of protesters, killing Heather Heyer. That's obvious, isn't it?

I do not believe Trump supports neo-Nazis or white supremacists. Moreover, I do not believe it's wrong for the president to acknowledge the reality of the Antifa movement. It's right to denounce violence and hatred.

People really need to calm the hell down. This is all irrational. It's a bizarre attempt to construct a false reality, by the media, by Democrats, by Republicans.

It all comes down to the fact that Trump's critics hate him. He can do nothing right because they hate him. They really hate him. They really, really hate him.

Jimmy Fallon Trashes Trump on Charlottesville

Jimmy Fallon didn't do a monologue on Monday's Tonight Show, or any opening comedy bits. He went right to his first guest, Susan Sarandon, after delivering these remarks:

JIMMY FALLON: As kids grow up, they need people to look up to, to show them what's right and good. They need parents and teachers, and they need leaders who appeal to the best in us. The fact that it took the president two days to come out and clearly denounce racists and white supremacists is shameful. And I think he finally spoke out because people everywhere stood up and said something. It's important for everyone, especially white people in this country, to speak out against this. Ignoring it is just as bad as supporting it.

Fallon begins his remarks with a lie, calling The Tonight Show an "apolitical show." Fallon pummels Trump every night, every single night, something he never did to Obama.

While I unequivocally agree with Fallon's remarks about the importance of denouncing hate, racism and white supremacists, I think he's wrong to use his platform to call President Trump "shameful" and falsely declare that the president took two days to denounce the racists and white supremacists. When Fallon goes further and states that Trump only denounced the haters because people pressured him into it, he goes too far.

This narrative being espoused by the Leftist media and Leftist entertainers, that Trump supports white supremacists, is just too much.

I would not stand for an American president acting as an apologist for neo-Nazis and racists.

What the hell is going on? It's reported as if neo-Nazis are prevalent in American society and Trump is their leader.

I know a lot of people. People I spend time with aren't racist. I personally don't know a single white supremacist. If I did, that person would be out of my life.

Yes, I know they exist, but most Americans don't embrace that ideology. Why are people insisting that about half of all Americans are racist, when it's just not the case?

The good people need to make sure that the bad people stay where they are, isolated.

James Alex Fields Jr. - Terrorist

From CNN:

Tensions remained high here Monday after a judge appointed an attorney for James Alex Fields Jr., the man suspected of killing a woman during a white supremacist rally.

...Fields, 20, is accused of driving his car Saturday into a crowd of people, killing Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old paralegal, who was protesting the "Unite the Right" march, and injuring 19 others. Nine patients remained hospitalized in good condition, hospital officials said Monday.

Fields is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death.

The suspect appeared via video link from jail in front of Judge Robert Downer. Fields wore a black and white jumpsuit and was informed of the charges and his rights.

Fields, who lives in Maumee, Ohio, makes $650 every two weeks working for Securitas, a security company, and noted that he couldn't afford a lawyer. Bond was not set and the judge appointed attorney Charles Weber.

Fields threw his life away when he decided to kill and injure.

I don't understand why people choose to hate and kill.

It's such a bad choice.

What happened in Charlottesville yesterday is horrific - outrageous rhetoric, violence, hate, death.

The white nationalists called their gathering "Unite the Right."

No way. I will not be associated with them. They aren't on the fringe of the conservative movement. They aren't part of it at all.

It's disturbing that Leftists are exploiting the terrible actions of these bad people to degrade Americans with conservative views.

In it's coverage of the Charlottesville story, the New York Times notes that these bad people were emboldened by Donald Trump's election.

Many of these groups have felt emboldened since the election of Donald J. Trump as president. Mr. Duke, a former imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, told reporters on Saturday that the protesters were “going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump” to “take our country back.”

Saturday afternoon, President Trump, speaking at the start of a veterans’ event at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., addressed what he described as “the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Virginia.”

In his comments, President Trump condemned the bloody protests, but he did not specifically criticize the white nationalist rally and its neo-Nazi slogans, blaming “hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.”

“It’s been going on for a long time in our country, it’s not Donald Trump, it’s not Barack Obama,” said Mr. Trump, adding that he had been in contact with Virginia officials. After calling for the “swift restoration of law and order,” he offered a plea for unity among Americans of “all races, creeds and colors.”

The president came under criticism from some who said he had not responded strongly enough against racism and that he failed to condemn the white nationalist groups by name who were behind the rally.

Among those displeased with Mr. Trump was the mayor of Charlottesville, Mike Signer. “I do hope that he looks himself in the mirror and thinks very deeply about who he consorted with during his campaign,” he said.

Politicizing 'The Sound of Music'

I watched The Sound of Music last night while wrapping Christmas presents.

It doesn't get better than that.

I saw #SoundOfMusic was trending on Twitter, and I thought I would read some nice comments about a wonderful film, free from politics and sniping.

What was I thinking? How naive of me!

Good grief.

Yes, the rise of the Third Reich figures prominently into the story. Politics provides the backdrop.

However, to say that the film has new meaning now that Trump has been elected is ugly. To equate Trump voters with Rolf is ugly.

Politico Editor Michael Hirsh Resigns

The Leftists are really losing it.

Michael Hirsh, national editor at Politico, went nuts on Tuesday and posted the home addresses of Richard Spencer on Facebook, encouraging violence against him.

National editor at Politico Michael Hirsh resigned after publishing the home addresses of alt-right figurehead Richard Spencer Tuesday morning and advocating for serious violence.

Politico confirmed his resignation following requests for comment from The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“Stop whining about Richard B. Spencer, Nazi, and exercise your rights as decent Americans,” Hirsh wrote in a public Facebook post. “Here are his two addresses.”

“These posts were clearly outside the bounds of acceptable discourse, and POLITICO editors regard them as a serious lapse of newsroom standards,” Politico Editor-In-Chief John Harris and Editor Carrie Budoff Brown told TheDCNF. “They crossed a line in ways that the publication will not defend, and editors are taking steps to ensure that such a lapse does not occur again.”

While Hirsh’s initial post could have been charitably interpreted to imply advocacy of a non-violent protest outside of Spencer’s home or other similar non-violent actions, a subsequent question and answer clarified Hirsh’s intentions.

“Completely agree we should mobilize against his hateful ideas, but what does knowing his home addresses do?” one Facebook user asked Hirsh. “Send a letter? Confront him in person? Seems like counter-speech is the main thing we can do. You can call it ‘whining’ but I’m not sure that’s fair or constructive. Side note: Apparently the GSA-owned Ronald Reagan International Trade Center in DC felt obligated to host his organization’s event because it can’t discriminate against speech under the First Amendment, so there’s that problem, too.”

Hirsh responded in an unhinged manner: “I wasn’t thinking of a fucking letter, Doug. He lives part of the time next door to me in Arlington. Our grandfathers brought baseball bats to Bund meetings. Want to join me?”

This is completely unhinged behavior from a journalist.

Of course, the backward views of Richard Spencer and white nationalists/supremacists should be condemned.

All lives should be valued and respected, regardless of one's race, religion, ethnicity, or age.

Bad things happen, as Hirsh learned, when one behaves badly.

Speaking of behaving badly, Howard Dean decided to call Steve Bannon anti-Semitic and actually referred to him as a Nazi.

Aaron Klein disagrees, calling Bannon a "fighter against anti-Semitism."

I wonder why Leftists, particularly in the media, didn't and don't object to the anti-Semitism in the Obama administration, yet they are going off the deep end because some white supremacists, like Richard Spencer, have decided to rear their very ugly heads.

It seems like everyone is going crazy. The rhetoric is out of control.
