The Necessity of Assimilation

2010 — German Chancellor Merkel: multiculturalism had “failed utterly.” 2011 — British PM Cameron: it encouraged cultures to “live separate lives.” 2011 — French Prez Sarkozy: multiculturalism was “a failure.” They all knew. Then Europe spent another 15 years preserving separate identities instead of demanding assimilation. The result is visible in the same Paris suburbs that has been at the center of repeated unrest for more than 20 years. Multiculturalism was declared dead over a decade ago. But elite institutions turned assimilation into a dirty word. And the leaders who knew better didn’t have the guts to make it policy.

If immigrants don't assimilate, it's an invasion. The homeland is threatened.
