Biden: 'God Save the Queen, Man'

What is the Big Guy talking about? "God save the Queen, man"? Biden really topped himself with that one.

Watch as he needs assistance to get off the stage.

I have noticed "assistants" swooping in to get Biden moving in the right direction. Apparently, Biden's handlers/caregivers have realized letting him wander around the stage is a bad look. However, needing someone to physically guide him is a bad look, too.

Queen Elizabeth Reacts to Harry and Meghan Interview

All of this should have been dealt with privately.

Their personal squabbles should not have been aired on TV. That's not the right way to deal with family concerns.

Why do wealthy, powerful, privileged people go on TV and insist they are victims?

Of course, they're human. They experience heartbreak and pain like everyone else. The difference is everyone else doesn't sit down with Oprah and spill their feelings on TV.

The unfortunately familiar routine of rich, pampered people claiming victimhood is unseemly.

Princess Anne is being praised for refusing to obey her 93-year-old mother, Queen Elizabeth.

Anne would not greet the President of the United States and the First Lady.

Wow. What courage!

Charles and William Refuse to Meet Trump

Prince Charles and Prince William refused to meet with President Trump during his visit to the United Kingdom, according to London newspaper The Sunday Times.

A source familiar with the planning for the president and first lady Melania Trump's meeting with Queen Elizabeth II told the Times that Charles and William made it clear that they did not want to participate.

“This business of Prince Charles and Prince William not being there for the Trump visit was a snub,” the source told the paper. “They simply refused to attend. It’s a very, very unusual thing for the queen to be there on her own. Usually she is accompanied by somebody. Prince Charles has been substituting for Philip a lot recently.”

Oh my God, Prince Charles and Prince William snubbed President Trump and First Lady Melania! They're so courageous!
...The Trumps met with the queen on Friday for tea at Windsor Castle, sparking social media backlash among the British public after video showed the president walking in front of the queen. The move was seen as a sign of disrespect, though it did not technically break royal protocol.
Really, who cares?

This article is gossipy crap.

If Charles and William were, in fact, making a statement and intentionally snubbing the Trumps, then they did.

Who cares?

I do not.

Royal Baby

It looks like a future king or queen of Great Britain will be born on July 22, 2013.



From FOX News:
After many weeks of waiting, the royal baby is on the way. Kensington Palace officials confirmed Monday morning that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, had been admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in London in the early stages of labor.

According to the palace, the Duchess traveled by car to the hospital, accompanied by her husband, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, the grandson of the current British Queen, Elizabeth II. Sky News reported that Kate was taken in through a side entrance at around 6 a.m. London time.

The couple's spokesman said, "Things are progressing as normal," while Sky News' royal correspondent Paul Harrison said the Duchess' condition had been described as "very well".

"It seems it was a very orderly arrival," Harrison reported. "There were two vehicles. A Ranger Rover-type vehicle, and behind it there was an Audi vehicle.

...The child, whose gender is unknown, would be third in line to the throne of Great Britain, behind Charles, Prince of Wales, and William.

...Following a time-honored royal tradition, the world will first read about the birth from a small bulletin posted in front of Buckingham Palace.
Big breaking news!

Members of the press from around the world are gathered in London, waiting to announce the birth.

Obama: 24 May 2008

Obama, allegedly the most brilliant man ever to be president of the United States, had some problems when he signed the guestbook at Westminster Abbey.

From New York Magazine, this is what Obama wrote:

And Sarah Palin is routinely ridiculed as being stupid?

Has she ever signed a guestbook and dated it using the WRONG YEAR?

I don't think so, because if she had done that, the Leftists and people like the spiteful Meaghan McCain would be reminding us of it constantly.

The double standard really bugs me.

Obama did an extremely stupid thing.

Clearly, he does exhibit greatness - great stupidity.

I didn't read the story, but I looked at the pic. The caption made me laugh.

Was it really necessary to identify 82-year-old Queen Elizabeth II as being on the left? Was there any possibility of confusion there?

Let's Talk about Michelle Obama's Clothes

SO much has been written and said about what Michelle Obama has been wearing as she trots around Europe.

Every outfit she wears is analyzed and debated.

From the New York Times:

Breaking the tradition of American first ladies typically, though not exclusively, wearing American fashion, Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless knit dress by the Paris legend Azzedine Alaia to a dinner in Baden-Baden. Reached tonight by phone in his studio, Alaia said the dress, which has a ruffled skirt, was sold to Ikram, the Chicago store that has been supplying Mrs. Obama with most of her clothes and accessories. Alaia said he saw pictures of Mrs. Obama in the dress on the Internet.

Wow. That's saturation coverage. Not all of the reports on Michelle's wardrobe have been positive.

From CNN: Oscar de la Renta has tough words for Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama's fashion choices at the G20 summit have drawn widespread praise, but at least one famous designer thinks the fist lady made a major faux pas in her wardrobe choice for a private audience with Queen Elizabeth II.

"You don't…go to Buckingham Palace in a sweater," Oscar de la Renta told Woman's Wear Daily regarding Mrs. Obama's decision to wear a cardigan over an Isabel Toledo-designed dress for the private meeting.

What's weird is the talk of Michelle Obama's fashion choices isn't just fodder for style mavens and entertainment media. It's not just reserved for those interested in fashion and gossip.

What Michelle is wearing is given almost the same importance as political news coming out of the European trip, as if it's supposed to really matter.

I think that's because the lib media are obsessed with drawing parallels between the Kennedys and the Obamas.

This is Camelot II. Just ask Chris Matthews.

Michelle is Jackie Kennedy. The world supposedly is fascinated with her style. In spite of a few fashion missteps, she's allegedly setting trends on this European tour. We all are looking to Michelle to show us the way.

Frankly, I think the coverage is embarrassing.

The Kennedy Camelot era was nearly 50 years ago. Times have changed since the early 1960s.

I'm surprised NOW and Leftist radicals aren't objecting to all the attention being paid to something as superficial as Michelle Obama's appearance. Should we really be SO concerned with how she looks?

Also, given the economic crisis and these hard times and the suffering of so many Americans, the emphasis on her clothes is inappropriate. Now is not the time to be highlighting ostentatiousness. There's a disconnect with that. Or do "royalty" like the Obamas get a pass? Are they allowed to flaunt wealth without having to spread it around?

Moreover, we know how much Sarah Palin's campaign wardrobe cost. How much is being spent on Michelle's clothes, shoes, hair, and makeup for the European tour? If we knew, we might want to get out our pitchforks.

Even though Obama preaches that ALL Americans must sacrifice, the White House obviously wanted Michelle's wardrobe and material extravagance to be a highlight of the trip, trying to recapture the mystique of Jackie Kennedy. I'm surprised she was willing to play that game. Michelle isn't in her early 30s and this isn't the early 60s.

Shouldn't the world be focusing on Michelle's qualities and abilities and talents rather than Michelle's clothes and hair?

Is she really satisfied with playing the shadow of Jackie Kennedy in this carefully choreographed, contrived 2009 version of Camelot?

The Obamas Meet the Queen: Video

Congratulations, Mr. Obama.

You didn't nod off during your meetings with leaders of the world.

It makes me feel so confident to have you representing our country. You managed to stay awake. Good for you!

Both Obamas played the palace Wednesday, but the star who emerged from their first meeting with Queen Elizabeth was the one dubbed Mighty Michelle by the gaga British tabs.

First Lady Michelle Obama was regally cool, and really tall at 6 feet in low heels next to the 5-foot-4 queen in the living quarters of Buckingham Palace. President Obama, characteristically cool, seemed a tad self-conscious in the royal presence.

Michelle Obama skipped the optional curtsy and easily reached out to shake hands with the queen and Prince Philip, while her husband's head bobbed awkwardly during the introductions.

The President, who was fighting off a cold, then appeared to settle on an exaggerated nod in the queen's direction to serve as the optional bow.

It was all in the preparation, President Obama said earlier.

"I'm very much looking forward to meeting" the queen, Obama said, "and as you might imagine, Michelle has been really thinking that through."

...The chitchat at the palace between the First Couple and the royal couple predictably went downhill when Philip chimed in with one of his trademark off-key bloopers.

Elizabeth asked about the Obamas' breakfast and worried that her guests might be tired - "the time lag," the queen said. "You're just trying to stay awake," said Philip.

"He's been busy with meetings," Michelle Obama said, and the President added that "I had breakfast with the Prime Minister, I had meetings with the Chinese, the Russians, [Tory leader] David Cameron. And I'm proud to say I did not nod off in one of the meetings."

Philip then asked, "Can you tell the difference between [the countries' leaders]?" The Obamas were too polite, or too puzzled, to respond.

I don't think Philip's question was a blooper.

I'm wondering the same thing.



Now, about Michelle Obama's royal faux pas...

She threw out protocol and touched the Queen. She also wore a sleeveless dress, a no-no.



Supposedly, Michelle Obama brushed up on "Etiquette Fit For a Queen."
Michelle and the president will try to charm the Queen today -- but they better not give her Royal Highness a fist bump.

The first lady was briefed on the particulars of royal etiquette by state department and White House officials on board Air Force One yesterday ahead of the big meeting with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace today, the Daily News reported.

Michelle reportedly passed on tips like appropriate small talk and other do's and don'ts to her husband, the paper reported.

British etiquette says "you may not shake the queen's hand, only touch it briefly" and that if the Queen stops eating then everyone else must stop too, the News reported.

Did Michelle forget the "particulars of royal etiquette," or did she intentionally reject them?

Who knows?

It's not as if Michelle's behavior is the stuff of an international incident. I don't think this is the start of the crisis that Joe Biden warned would occur. No need to gird your loins over this.

It's all good.

I do think it's worth remembering how gracefully and perfectly Mrs. Laura Bush conducted herself when the Queen visited the U.S. in 2007. She was such a wonderful first lady.
