Reince Priebus Endorses Leah Vukmir

Reince Priebus knows Wisconsin politics.

He successfully orchestrated the Republican revolution in 2010, helping Scott Walker become governor and Ron Johnson unseat Russ Feingold.

Of course, as chairman of the RNC, he went on to play a vital role in the successes of Election 2016, delivering the House, the Senate, and the presidency to Republicans.

He served as President Trump's chief of staff.

Although Priebus has held high profile positions, I don't think he's received the recognition he deserves.

On Monday, Mark Belling interviewed Priebus. They discussed his endorsement of Leah Vukmir for U.S. Senate, a great endorsement for her.

During the very interesting and enlightening interview, Priebus said he continues to speak with President Trump on a regular basis.

REINCE PRIEBUS: As far as I'm concerned, I think the president is doing a great job. I still have a good relationship with the president. We meet, we talk on the phone, I support him, and I'm going to continue to do it. I'm never going to be one of these people who write books and spout my mouth off. It's just not who I am. It's not the legacy I want to be. And as you know me, I'll never become that. So, I look at the fundamentals. And if you look at the fundamentals, you look at the economy, you look at unemployment, you look at ISIS, you look at the courts, you look at the federal courts more than any president in one year in the history of our country -- he gets an A+.

...

I talk to him maybe every three or four or five days. We met for lunch a couple times. I think we both appreciate each other and like each other and consider each other friends. We talk sometimes about the issues of the day or something that's going on that's in the news and what maybe a good way around it is, and the same things we've always talked about. I don't want to get into too much of that, Mark, but it's a good relationship, and, you know, he deserves loyalty from people that he gave an opportunity to.

The podcast of the show is here. The Priebus interview begins at 93:00.

I'm very happy that Priebus has endorsed Leah Vukmir, a solid Republican sure to serve the citizens of Wisconsin well.

Jimmy Fallon: James Taylor 'Fire and Fury'

Lyrics

Just yesterday morning, Breitbart announced you were gone.
Bannon, the tell-all book put an end to you.
Thought you were besties, but I guess I was wrong,
Shouldn’t have dissed Trump’s ass in those interviews.

I've seen fire and I've seen fury.
I've seen White House staff who will have to face a jury.
I've seen him drink a cup of water with tiny hands,
While he's lyin' in bed watching "Fox and Friends."

Bannon hated Don Jr., for disrupting his plans,
Called him unpatriotic and treasonous.
Trump heard about that, and Bannon got canned,
Cuz Trump's, like, a really smart stable genius.

Whoa, I've seen fire and I've seen fury,
I've seen so many tweets that my eyes are getting blurry.
Even his own wife and kids thought he would lose,
Now he's throwin' a damn awards show for fake news.

He's been goin' to bed at 6 p.m., up at 3 a.m. to tweet,
Lord knows when he's on his phone, he can throw a fit, y'know.
And he has a light snack of six Big Macs, while he's watchin' three TV's,
He's turned the White House into a total shithole.

Whoa, I've seen fire and I've seen fury,
I just wish Robert Mueller would friggin’ hurry.
And this time I’ll be the one who calls Putin,
Cuz in 2020, Oprah…she’s gonna win.

Thought I'd vote Oprah this time again, there's an election
Coming our way in three more years,
Vote for Oprah, vote for Oprah, yeah yeah.

Steve Bannon Out at Breitbart

Breitbart cuts ties with Steve Bannon.

From FOX News:

Stephen Bannon has stepped down as executive chairman of the pro-Trump, populist website Breitbart News, less than a week after a dramatic falling out with President Trump.

Breitbart announced the news Tuesday afternoon on its website, saying it would work together with Bannon on “a smooth and orderly transition.”

“I’m proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform,” Bannon said in a statement on the site.

“Steve is a valued part of our legacy, and we will always be grateful for his contributions, and what he has helped us to accomplish,” Breitbart CEO Larry Solov said.

...His departure also means Bannon will lose his radio platform.

"Breitbart News has decided to end its relationship with Stephen K. Bannon, therefore he will no longer host on SiriusXM since our programming agreement is with Breitbart News," SiriusXM said in a statement.
Bannon really screwed up.

Donald Trump Jr. and Steve Bannon

So will Steve Bannon now become a darling of the Left?

That seems to be Bannon's hope.

Kevin Nicholson and Steve Bannon

U.S. Senate candidate Kevin Nicholson has a problem - Steve Bannon.

From the Associated Press, via Beloit Daily News:

U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir is calling on her Republican opponent Kevin Nicholson to disavow former White House strategist Steve Bannon over comments attributed to him in a new book.

According to excerpts of Michael Wolff's book released Wednesday, Bannon thought Trump's son's contact with a Russian lawyer during the campaign was "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."

Jess Ward, Vukmir's campaign manager, calls Bannon's comments a "vicious attack" against the president and his family. She says that combined with Bannon's endorsement of losing Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore should lead "any self-respecting Republican" to question his role in the party.
Without question, Nicholson needs to distance himself from Bannon.

Bannon is ballot box poison.

Nicholson's response to the Bannon matter will tell Wisconsin voters a lot. Nicholson has an opportunity here to assert himself as a good candidate. However, it appears that he prefers to keep Bannon happy.

President Trump and Steve Bannon

President Trump's statement on Steve Bannon:

Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.

Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn't as easy as I make it look. Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country. Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans. Steve doesn't represent my base—he's only in it for himself.

Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.

We have many great Republican members of Congress and candidates who are very supportive of the Make America Great Again agenda. Like me, they love the United States of America and are helping to finally take our country back and build it up, rather than simply seeking to burn it all down.
I agree with Donald Trump Jr.

Bannon is an opportunist.
