From the man who infamously declared, on Election Night 2016, that Donald Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton was “whitelash” to a black president, CNN commentator Van Jones had a vastly different tone Tuesday night. The President’s address to a joint session of Congress was applauded by many for the emotional tone struck while speaking to the wife of slain Navy SEAL Ryan Owens; to which Jones declared “He became President of the United States in that moment. Period.”

“There are a lot of people who have a lot of reason to be frustrated with him, to be fearful of him, to be mad at him,” he continued, “But that was one of the most extraordinary moments you have ever seen in American politics period.”

He described that portion of the speech as “extraordinary” and said that for those who held out in their belief that Trump could be presidential and unifying, “they should be happy with that moment.” But he had a dire warning for Democrats who think that they can just stroll into the White House in four years:

For people hoping that maybe he would remain a divisive cartoon, which he often finds a way to do, they should begin to become a little bit worried tonight. Because, that thing you just saw him do, if he finds way to do that over and over again, he'll be there for eight years. Now, there is a lot he said in that speech that was counter factual, that was not right and I oppose and will oppose but he did something tonight that you can't take away from him. He became president of the United States.

I think the address last night caused at least some Democrats/Leftists/Never Trump people, like Jones, to finally acknowledge that Trump is, in fact, the president of the United States.

He cannot be dismissed as a "divisive cartoon" anymore. That game is over.

CHARLIE SHEEN: Good afternoon, Mr. President. I come to you today representing the families of the victims of September 11th, as well as millions of my fellow Americans.

Hopefully by now you've had a chance to read my letter to you, "Twenty Minutes with the President," and if not, at least had its contents brought to your attention.

We have questions, Mr. President. Lots of questions. A lot of them are detailed in my letter. Trust me, there are hundreds more questions.

As my letter chronicles, sir, the 9/11 Commission itself says they were lied to, deceived, and essentially prevented from carrying out a real investigation. People of the United States and the world demand the truth, sir.

You, sir, have the power as well as the responsibility to initiate a truly independent Congressional investigation into the events of 9/11 as well as its aftermath.

We want our country back, Mr. President. Therefore, I'm not just calling on you and your team. I'm calling on each and every American citizen to wake up, stand up, and demand the truth. We're counting on you, Mr. President. Be on the right side of history.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with our 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, while he was out promoting his health care reform initiative. I requested 30 minutes given the scope and detail of my inquiry; they said I could have 20. Twenty minutes, 1200 seconds, not a lot of time to question the President about one of the most important events in our nation’s history. The following is a transcript of our remarkable discussion.

Charlie Sheen – Good afternoon Mr. President, thank you so much for taking time out of your demanding schedule.

President Barack Obama – My pleasure, the content of your request seemed like something I should carve out a few minutes for.

CS – I should point out that I voted for you, as your promises of hope and change, transparency and accountability, as well as putting government back into the hands of the American people, struck an emotional chord in me that I hadn’t felt in quite some time, perhaps ever.

PBO – And I appreciate that Charlie. Big fan of the show, by the way.

CS – Sir, I can’t imagine when you might find the time to actually watch my show given the measure of what you inherited.

PBO – I have it Tivo’d on Air Force One. Nice break from the traveling press corps. (He glances at his watch) not to be abrupt or to rush you, but you have 19 minutes left.

CS – I’ll take that as an invitation to cut to the chase.

PBO – I’m all ears. Or so I’ve been told.

CS - Sir, in the very near future we will be experiencing our first 9/11 anniversary with you as Commander in Chief.

PBO – Yes. A very solemn day for our Nation. A day of reflection and yet a day of historical consciousness as well.

CS – Very much so sir, very much so indeed…. Now; In researching your position regarding the events of 9/11 and the subsequent investigation that followed, am I correct to understand that you fully support and endorse the findings of the commission report otherwise known as the ‘official story’?

PBO – Do I have any reason not to? Given that most of us are presumably in touch with similar evidence.

CS – I really wish that were the case, sir. Are you aware, Mr. President, of the recent stunning revelations that sixty percent of the 9/11 commissioners have publicly stated that the government agreed not to tell the truth about 9/11 and that the Pentagon was engaged in deliberate deception about their response to the attack?

PBO – I am aware of certain “in fighting” during the course of their very thorough and tireless investigative process.

CS – Mr. President, it’s hard to label this type of friction as “in fighting” or make the irresponsible leap to “thorough,” when the evidence I insist you examine regarding 6 of the 10 members are statements of fact.

(At this point one of Obama’s senior aides approaches the President and whispers into his ear. Obama glances quickly at his watch and nods as the aide resumes his post at the doorway, directly behind me.)

PBO – No disrespect Mr. Sheen, but I have to ask; what is it that you seem to be implying with the initial direction of this discussion?

CS – I am not implying anything Mr. President. I am here to present the facts and see what you plan to do with them.

PBO - Let me guess; your ‘facts,’ allegedly supporting these claims are in the folders you brought with you?

CS – Good guess Mr. President.

It makes me sick that people like Charlie Sheen, Rosie O'Donnell, and Van Jones entertain the notion that the U.S. government intentionally unleashed the hell of 9/11 on the American people.

I am in total agreement with former President Bill Clinton on this.

Mainstream Media Ignored Van Jones Controversy

FOX News has assembled a timeline of how the mainstream media, print and broadcast, covered the Van Jones story.

Who reported what and when?

Here’s the rundown of coverage from print and broadcast news outlets on the Jones ordeal:

• Wednesday, September 2 – no mention from CBS, NBC, ABC or The Washington Post & The New York Times.

• Thursday, September 3 – no mention from CBS, NBC, ABC or The Washington Post & The New York Times print editions. (A Washington Post blog picks up the story eventually).

• Friday, September 4 – ABC & NBC do not cover the story on their broadcasts, CBS evening news files a report from Bill Plante.

• Saturday, September 5—no mention from CBS, NBC or ABC on the evening newscasts or The New York Times print edition (Their blog The Caucus does pick it up eventually). The Washington Post runs a story in their print edition about the White House being quiet about the controversy.

• Sunday, September 6—no mention from The New York Times or The Washington Post early print editions (the story breaks overnight and is too late for print). All evening newscasts pick up the story high in their shows.

• Monday, September 7 – The New York Times morning print edition runs its first mention of the story on a front page, under- the-fold piece.

• (Note: CNN’s Lou Dobbs references Van Jones on September 3, and MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann airs Beck clips and talks about Van Jones, but largely talks about Beck’s attacks on Rockefeller).

The booming calls for Jones’ resignation and questions over his ability to land such a position wasn’t just coming from Republicans, although the conservative blogosphere heavily picked up the issue. Democrats and security experts weighed in, wondering how Van Jones could have passed thorough and lengthy background checks and still landed the job.

If this doesn't show that the mainstream media are actively covering up for the Obama administration and serving as propaganda arms of the administration, nothing does.

Van Jones and the Obama Questionnaire

So how did a 9/11 truther like Van Jones get to be an Obama czar?

Although Obama's czars don't need to be approved by Congress, like Cabinet members, there had to be at least some vetting process involved.

Whatever it was, it did not involve the Obama questionnaire, 7 pages of 63 questions.

Van Jones, the Obama green jobs czar who resigned shortly after midnight Sunday, did not fill out the exhaustive questionnaire White House officials required of every Cabinet-level secretary and deputy-secretary position.

An administration official said special advisers to the president, or czars, are not required to fill out the questionnaire that runs 7 pages and contains 63 questions.

The entire questionnaire, the official said, is reserved for appointees who must win Senate confirmation.

Among the varied topics covered in the questionnaire: history as a lobbyist or other "legislative agent", tax liens, bankruptcies, spousal employment, potential conflicts of interest, domestic help, internet "handles" and Facebook pages, and traffic fines in excess of $50.

Question 61 reads as follows: "Have you had any association with any person, group or business venture that could be used - even unfairly - to impugn or attack your character and qualifications for government service?"

That question might have raised a flag since Jones signed a 2004 petition calling for an investigation into potential government complicity in the 9/11 attrocities that left nearly 3,000 civilians dead in coordinated hijacked airplane attacks in New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

I'm not convinced that if Jones had filled out the questionnaire honestly and completely that any flags would have been raised.

I think it's highly possible that those on Team Obama are so out of the mainstream that being a 9/11 truther isn't an issue for them.

About Jones not understanding the nature of the petition and mistakenly signing it--

Before resigning, Jones issued a statement approved by the Council for Environmental Quality, that said he "did not agree" with the 9/11Truth.org statement and that it did not reflect his views "now or ever."

However, Fox News correspondent James Rosen spoke with 911Truth.org spokesman Mike Berger on Friday and Berger said Jones knew what the petition said and agreed with its contents.

"He did agree with that statement and he did sign on to it," Berger said in a phone interview with Rosen. Berger said the group's "original board members individually confirmed all signatories that had signed on to the statement." Asked by what means the confirmation was obtained, Berger said: "They did it through email or on the phone."

An administration official said Jones never hid his controversial associations or remarks from the White House.

"It wouldn't be fair to characterize him as being dishonest or hiding his comments or his positions," the official said. "It's just fair to say that he didn't go through the most rigorous vetting process."

If Berger is to be believed, then Jones lied when he said the petition did not reflect his views "now or ever."

Moreover, if it's true that Jones didn't hide his comments or positions from the White House, then something is really amiss.

It wouldn't take a very rigorous vetting process to discover that Jones is a 9/11 truther.

Either there is virtually no vetting process for Obama's czars or Jones' views weren't seen as being of any concern.

Both possibilities are troubling.

Krauthammer: Obama, Wright, Ayers, Jones

Yes, Obama surrounds himself with radicals, extremists that are way out of the mainstream -- Van Jones, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright.

That says something about Obama. There's no way around it.

That fact that Valerie Jarrett and others on Obama's team embraced Van Jones and saw nothing wrong with his radicalism is, as Charles Krauthammer puts it, "a reflection of the boss."

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: What you also learn about the White House is when [Valerie] Jarrett said, as we saw on tape, 'We've been watching [Van Jones] all these years.' Well, that means you've been watching him and you must know something about his history of quite radical politics and statements. And that apparently was undisturbing to Jarrett and to Obama people. And that tells you, it's a reflection of the boss.

The boss also had a history, before he became a candidate, of being around and friends with the likes of Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers. Liberals scolded us last year how irrelevant all of that is, how it's a smear campaign against Obama. But if you live in that environment and you find nothing inherently wrong with that kind of radicalism, then a Van Jones will show up. You'll watch him years and years and you'll think this guy is perfectly mainstream.

Jones wasn't the victim of a smear campaign anymore than Wright or Ayers.

They are what they are: fringe Leftist radicals.

David Sirota: Van Jones and Glenn Beck - Racism, Political Terrorism

On CNN's American Morning, David Sirota and David Frum debated controversial Van Jones' resignation as an Obama adviser.

Sirota claims that Jones was the victim of a smear campaign and he was targeted because he's black.

Repeatedly in the segment, moderated by John Roberts, Sirota called Glenn Beck and others like him "political terrorists" and engaging in "political terrorism."

DAVID SIROTA: Well, look, Van Jones is a national hero for his work on green jobs. He's known as an expert on energy policy, on economic policy. He's somebody who made a mistake, who acknowledged that he made a mistake a long time ago, and he was tossed out by this White House. And I think what we can learn from what happened is what this White House values and what this White House doesn't value.

The White House stuck by Tim Geithner as Tim Geithner was involved, the treasury secretary, in a tax scandal. He's accepted gifts from the banking industry. The White House stood by him. The White House has stood by other people, like Ben Bernanke who's had a, who's really been at the heart of our economic problems. And they're putting, basically putting Van Jones out to pasture because of something that Van Jones said was a mistake.

And what I think is going on here is that the White House is listening to the Right-wing's political terrorists, people like Glenn Beck, people like conservative activists, who have targeted Van Jones because Van Jones was an African-American, is an African-American, with progressive movement background working on behalf of social justice. That's something unfortunately that is apparently, according to the Right-wing, not allowed in this country.

What a load!

It's truly despicable that Leftists like Sirota keep whipping out the race card. Calling Beck and conservative bloggers like Gateway Pundit "political terrorists" for exposing the truth about Jones is equally offensive.

Actually, Sirota is charging the Obama White House with racism.

Enough with all the racism charges!

The Jones controversy has absolutely nothing to do with race.

This notion that Jones made a mistake and that he didn't understand the 9/11 truther petition is a joke.

Speaking the truth, exposing Jones' own words and actions, is not terrorism of any sort.

SIROTA: I think what the White House has done is said to a Right-wing lynch mob that they will accept their demands, their politically, their political terrorism. And what you're going to see is this White House... you cannot appease political terrorists. You cannot appease a Right-wing lynch mob. And so the next time, the next target of this lynch mob, I think, you know, you're not going to be able to appease them. I think the White House is on the retreat, and it's really been a political mistake as much as anything.

Howard Dean and Van Jones

On FOX News Sunday, former DNC chairman Howard Dean touted Van Jones' qualifications and expressed regret that Jones resigned as Obama's "green jobs" czar. Then, he gave an implausible explanation for how Van Jones' name ended up on that 9/11 truther petition.

WALLACE: Governor, how about the fact that he had made a series of statements and had signed this petition in 2004 indicating, suggesting that the government might have had some role or some complicity in 9/11?

DEAN: Well, he was told by the people waving those clipboards around that he was signing something else. So, that's too bad. Look, all of us campaigning for office have had people throw clipboards in front of our face and ask us to sign. He learned the hard way. He ought not to do that, but I don't think he really thinks the government had anything to do with causing 9/11.

That's ridiculous.

I don't buy that Yale-educated professor, best-selling author Jones didn't know what he was signing.

I do think he really thinks the Bush administration had something to do with causing 9/11. It certainly would be consistent with his other extremist, twisted views.

I expect Jones to use all this attention and try to cash in on it with a vengeance. He'll probably be hitting the Lefty lecture circuit, stepping up his speaking appearances.

From FOX News, here's the resignation letter that Van Jones sent to Council on Environmental Quality Chair Nancy Sutley.

"I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today.

On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.

I have been inundated with calls - from across the political spectrum - urging me to "stay and fight."

But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future.

It has been a great honor to serve my country and my President in this capacity. I thank everyone who has offered support and encouragement. I am proud to have been able to make a contribution to the clean energy future. I will continue to do so, in the months and years ahead."

This doesn't sound like Van Jones.

President Barack Obama's adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.

Van Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly "green jobs" with the White House Council on Environmental Quality was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the 2001 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.

...The matter surfaced after news reports of a derogatory comment Jones made in the past about Republicans, and separately, of Jones' name appearing on a petition connected to the events surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. That 2004 petition had asked for congressional hearings and other investigations into whether high-level government officers had allowed the attacks to occur.

Smear campaign?

How can Jones' own words be a smear campaign?

He's the 9/11 truther.

No, this was no smear campaign. It was an enlightening exercise. The truth about Jones was revealed.

Given the fact that the Van Jones controversy has barely received any coverage at all from the mainstream media, I'm surprised that he's whining about the alleged "smear campaign." The media did what it could to keep a lid on the matter.

Controversy? What controversy? Van Jones? Who is Van Jones?

...Jones said he has been "inundated with calls from across the political spectrum urging me to stay and fight."

But he said he cannot in good conscience ask his colleagues to spend time and energy defending or explaining his past.

What political spectrum is Jones talking about?

That very far Left one?

Jones flatly said in an earlier statement that he did not agree with the petition's stand on the 9/11 attacks and that "it certainly does not reflect my views, now or ever."

As for his other comments he made before joining Obama's team, Jones said, "If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize."

His apologies did little to quiet Republican demands that the resign.

Jones' name was on the petition.

He's not being honest about his views, "now or ever."

It really doesn't matter how Jones tries to spin this. What matters is that Jones is gone.

That's good.

What's not good is that Obama appointed Jones, the 9/11 truther, to be the "green jobs" czar. What's not good is that the radical extremist Jones served as an adviser to Obama. What's not good is that the Obama administration stood by Jones as the controversy swirled.

Even with Jones' resignation, the White House is standing by their man.

What's really not good is that the White House didn't fire Jones.

Obviously, Obama is sitting on the fence again. He's trying not to appear to be abandoning Jones and the radical Left, but it's politically expedient for Obama to distance himself from Jones.

Accepting his resignation is a cowardly way for Obama to cut Jones loose.

It's not enough for Jones to apologize for his statements. Obama should apologize for embracing someone like him. Obama should apologize to Americans for lying when he passed himself off as post-partisan.

This is getting ridiculous.

So many offensive and shocking statements that Van Jones has made, yet I don't see the mainstream media shining the spotlight on him.

If a Republican or a conservative says something vaguely controversial, it's a lead story. The lib media get bent out of shape about it and keep pushing it until they destroy the individual.

But in the case of Van Jones, he gets a pass.

It bothers me that the media are so biased.

It really bothers me that someone like Jones is so close to Obama. Is Obama such a fringe Leftist himself that he doesn't see why so many Americans are concerned about Jones? Is that why he doesn't realize the extent of the political damage and the ramifications of his allegiance to Jones ?

I don't care about Jones speaking his mind. Of course, he can spout whatever he wants. However, I do care that Obama doesn't have a problem with Jones' extremism and divisiveness and overall derangement. That reflects very, very poorly on Obama's judgment.

All these audio and video clips, all this stuff that's been unearthed, reveal as much about Obama as they do about Jones.

That's why I think Van Jones is important.
