Rudy Giuliani and Weasels

I don't want a weak, weaselly president.

I want a president with a spine.
I don't want a president that speaks in platitudes.
I want the real deal.

I don't want a president that takes on different accents to appeal to specific audiences.

I want a principled person to be the president, not a political panderer.

That's why I'm impressed with Rudy Giuliani's "ferret speech."

The lib elites at Vanity Fair don't find it impressive at all. In fact, they're hoping to turn public opinion against Giuliani by exposing it. They think it shows him to be a nutjob.

Is it nuts to be rational and talk sense to a ferret-obsessed person?

Who's crazy here?

The Vanity Fair libs or Giuliani?

Allow me to provide some context for the "ferret speech."

When Giuliani was mayor of New York, he had a talk radio show. Yes, he dared to take calls from citizens.

Can you imagine Hillary Clinton doing that? She tries to keep the press at arm's length.

From
WNBC:

The former New York mayor is the talk of the political blogosphere, thanks to a recording made of a run-in he had on a radio show with a ferret lover eight years ago.

Giuliani had signed a ban on ferret walking in the city, irking fervent ferret lover David Gutharz.

Gutharz is the founder of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Ferrets. He has attended public hearings dressed in a ferret suit. And he called a radio show that was hosting Giuliani to complain about the ban.

Vanity Fair magaine writer Michael Wolff resurrected Giuliani's response in the publication's June edition, quoting from ABC Radio:
"There is something deranged about you. ... The excessive concern you have for ferrets is something you should examine with a therapist. ... There is something really, really very sad about you. ... This excessive concern with little weasels is a sickness. ... You should go consult a psychologist. ... Your compulsion about—your excessive concern with it is a sign that there is something wrong in your personality. ... You have a sickness, and I know it's hard for you to accept that. ... You need help."

Watch a humorous animated version from Slate. If you listen to the audio, you hear how crazed the caller is about ferrets.
Vanity Fair ignores that, instead using the incident to exemplify what it calls the "neurosis and eccentricity and ludicrousness and hubris of Rudy as supreme ruler."
It's a lame attempt to make the case that Giuliani is mentally unstable.

To the contrary, I think Giuliani should use the audio in a campaign commercial to illustrate his sanity.

Giuliani's "ferret speech" is really more of a testimonial to his qualifications to be president than a damning diatribe.

Ferrets probably would have a higher approval rating than politicians. hehehe

I don't want a President who tells political dissenters that they are mentally ill. That's a Castro technique, remember? In the ferret audio, Rudy is avoiding the necessity of defending a law that has no sound basis for existing by calling his opponent names. I want a leader who leads, not a thug who bullies.

HAHAHA

The guy wasn't a "political dissenter."

Giuliani was seriously saying that he needed help with his unhealthy ferret obsession.

It's completely unfair to cite the ferret speech as a Castro technique.

Castro would have made the guy disappear.

Actually, Castro wouldn't have talked to the guy in the first place.
