How lucky can you get?
Washington -- You'll be green with envy: Jim Sensenbrenner has just snagged another $1,000 from the Wisconsin Lottery, after an identical win last spring.
The Republican congressman from Menomonee Falls has a Midas touch with lottery tickets. Late in 1997, he won a $250,000 jackpot on a $2 ticket in the District of Columbia lottery.
"I got lucky," he said of his recent pair of prizes, the latest on Aug. 30.
Sensenbrenner, 64, an heir to the Kimberly-Clark fortune, is not exactly hurting for cash. He put his net worth at $11.6 million in a financial disclosure last March.
The lawmaker said he spends "about 10 bucks" a week on tickets. His winnings came when he entered the Super 2nd Chance drawing in which people mail at least $5 in losing tickets to try for a $1,000 prize - and there are 10 - in a drawing every Thursday.
Lottery officials said approximately 50,000 people enter the second-chance drawing each week, so if Sensenbrenner entered once, he would face 1 in 5,000 odds.
Some people are just naturally lucky I guess.
Look at Hillary Clinton and her success with cattle futures in 1978.
She still hasn't lost her Midas touch.
With just a few shrewd moves, I think Hillary could single-handedly fix Social Security.
