"Bitch is the New Black"

Saturday Night Live is live again.

With no new episodes for months due to the Writers' strike, it was good to have the show back.

Fred Armisen was unveiled as SNL's Barack Obama. He looked good. He captured that furrowed brow/serious/confused expression that Obama so often has during debates. Armisen looked better than he sounded, but the skit didn't give him the opportunity to say much as Obama.

Yes, Mike Huckabee was on the show. He was on briefly during "Weekend Update." He's a pretty good actor, I think.

The bit was funny enough, with Seth Meyers explaining to him that it was mathematically impossible for him to amass enough delegates to win the nomination.

Huckabee said he wasn't a math guy, that he's more of a miracle guy; but he would bow out of the race with class and grace when the time came. He said he wouldn't overstay his welcome.

At that point, the segment was over and Huckabee should have left the Update desk. Instead, he very ungracefully remained. After a few attempts at saying goodbye, Huckabee finally did move along.

Although it was a comedy bit, I'm thinking that's the real Huckabee.

Later, host Tina Fey returned to her old place at the Update desk. She did the women's news.

She did a few jokes on a few stories, and then went into her Hillary Clinton appeal. Fey made the case to elect a woman and vote for Hillary.

She talked about how far women have come. They are so empowered that they don't feel obligated to vote for a woman.

Fey said, "Women today feel perfectly free to make whatever choice Oprah tells them to.

"Which raises the question: Why are people abandoning Hillary for Obama?"

She brought up the bitch issue. Fey said that being a bitch, like Hillary, is good because "bitches get things done."

Fey said, "It's not too late, Texas and Ohio. Get on board. Bitch is the new black."

Fey's endorsement was the most positive press Hillary has had in a while, even though it came from the comedy press.

Fey's commentary was hilarious and brilliant. She fired me up and I've been heavily leaning toward Obama. (*And I live in Ohio)...

Do yourself a favor, don't lean towards Obama. he's an empty suit.

Howdy!

I googled "Bitch is the new black" and your site is one of the links that came up. I was hoping to find the video online. I had no idea she would do that otherwise I would have taped it.

As a huge Hillary supporter and at this point a huge Obama and media hater, I freaking loved what they did tonight.

The media has turned Obama into some kind of a god, a Svengali.. he can do no wrong and Hillary can do no right.

The misogyny and sexism 24/7 in the media is infuriating to many of us and seeing women commentators join in , is very sad.. All media on tv are either republican or Obama supporters and they show it in lots of little ways or big ways when they do their bullcrap on tv. For many of us it's sickening to watch.

I've done my share of blog posts with details of the real Obama, others do too, and we send them to the tv media daily, many times.. but they won't listen.. they love the guy. It is so so disheartening to see this happen in my country.

Tina Fey rocked tonight and I think by tomorrow, we'll google "Bitch is the new black" and find many more links as time goes on.. maybe bumper stickers!

Tina Fey was great. It was as if she was telling America to snap out of this bizarre Obama worship.

She's absolutely right. "Bitches get stuff done."

If anyone calls me a bitch, I respond, "Damn straight."

I agree, BJ. It's about time there was some balance in the media reporting of the Dem race.

i am so tired of the media bias and even watching so called "journalists" attack hillary in debates. both wolf blitzer and campbell brown cut hillary short and insulted her in a way i have NEVER seen them do to a male candidate. the world may not be ready for a woman, but that's precisely why they need one. i was voting republican, but i'm voting for hilary now. and if the dems think obama can beat mccain. they're WRONG AGAIN. it's OBAMA that is divisive.

If Hilary is smart, she'll embrace this.

BJ... This isn't a bumper sticker, but I made a t-shirt

Enjoy.

I'd been storming about how awful the CNN hosts treated Hillary, and how the "news" commentators fail to notice how Obama distorts what she says (e.g., about health care, she said the danger of leaving loopholes is that "insurance companies will game the system" which he repeated it as "people will game the system"), etc. etc. ...then along comes Tina Fey, dear one!
Bitch is the new crone!

Hillary is a pig and her recent distribution of a Obama's picture does nothing but make her look desperate. I'm a democrat and am undecided at this point, but Hillary's taken a nosedive with her recent smear campaign. At least Obama runs a clean campaign. If he puts something out there, he justifies it and explains why he did it and why it is accurate. Hillary throws crap out to see if it sticks. "Bitches get things done" Oh great. That's wonderful for foreign relations.
