There's more disturbing information on Jeff Scheidemantel, the alleged meth-making high school chemistry teacher from Bakersfield, California.
The Bakersfield Californian reports:
The Shafter High School chemistry teacher accused of trying to make methamphetamine in a school lab also dabbled in writing.
Jeff Ryan Scheidemantel was apparently writing a story in which the lead character, a teacher at a Catholic high school, shoots and kills students in class during a dream sequence, according to Sheriff’s Department reports filed in Kern County Superior Court.
Scheidemantel faces charges of manufacturing meth and possession with the intent to manufacture meth. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
Kern High School District spokesman John Teves said Scheidemantel was placed on unpaid administrative leave on Jan. 22, the day charges were filed. Teves said he was not aware of Scheidemantel’s writings.
...Detectives found what appeared to be the first two chapters of a book Scheidemantel was writing during a search of his school e-mail account, according to the reports. The schoolteacher Scheidemantel created in the story hates everything about his employment, uses offensive language when referring to students and shows disgust for school administration.
The character carries a pistol and eventually shoots students in a dream sequence. Three handguns and a shotgun were seized from Scheidemantel’s residence.
Scheidemantel denies that he made meth at school.
He can't deny what was found via his e-mail.
Leaving the obvious troubling nature of his writings aside, I question how Scheidemantel could have such poor judgment to leave a trail to his creative output through his SCHOOL E-MAIL ACCOUNT.
That is remarkably stupid!
The dark writings would be consistent with being on a meth roller coaster.
Scheidemantel is one screwed up guy.
Thankfully, he didn't harm any students.

I went to High School with Jeff and can't ever imagine him harming anyone. He was never in trouble in school and was always a straight up stand up kind of guy. I don't think his writings prove any kind of intent to hurt anyone. Not sure if he has a meth problem, but you think administration would have noticed if he did. Meth users are easy to spot.
He seems like a very troubled man.
I hope he gets his life together.
I have also known Jeff for years. I could never see him as a meth user. We partied for sure but are all college grads and leading prosperous lives. He's a way cool family man and would never hurt anyone. It's easy for people to make generalizations without all of the details and that's sad. Without educating yourself on the facts you lack the ability to be objective and without objectivity your opinion is worthless.
