From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
A Town of Jackson man drove his pickup truck through the wall of an apartment, injuring at least one person inside, before he was arrested last night on his fifth drunken driving offense, according to Village of Jackson police.
The driver, 47, had some scratches but escaped serious injury, but a 24-year-old man inside the apartment suffered a back injury, possibly from flying debris, police said.
The accident at the apartment building, W198-N17036 Ridgeway Drive, came at the end of a suspected drunken route through Washington County for the driver, who police said was eastbound on Highway 60 at Glenbrook Drive about 10:15 p.m. when he first struck another eastbound vehicle and fled the scene.
Then he stopped at a local tavern, where employees recognized he was intoxicated and asked him to leave, according to police.
The man continued driving, turning north onto Ridgeway Drive, where he then struck a parked pickup truck. Soon, his own truck left the roadway, traveling about 50 feet until he hit the apartment building and drove completely into an apartment, police said.
There were several people inside the kitchen and living room, including at least one child, police said. No one else was injured.
FIVE TIMES.
INEXCUSABLE.
