Dad Takes Photos of Gun-Toting Six-Year-Old

You may have thought that Billy Ray Cyrus used bad judgment regarding his daughter Miley Cyrus and the now infamous Vanity Fair photo shoot.

This Annie Liebovitz photo of Miley sparked quite a controversy for a few days.

Billy Ray, how could you sign off on Hannah Montana posing like that?

Here's a creepy story of photos and another dad and his daughter:

Photos of a 6-year-old girl posing with guns were discovered during the search of a Central Florida home on Friday.

Police said they were shocked to find the photos during an investigation for a burglary case.

While searching a home, Palm Bay police and Brevard County sheriff’s detectives found photos on a cell phone of their suspect posing with an SKS rifle, police said. They also found the photos of the suspect’s daughter posing with guns.

Police said the girl’s father gave her the guns and told her to pose.

"He thought it was kind of funny that the little girl was holding a pistol," Detective Steve Hill of Palm Bay Police said. "That’s what he said initially but I think he realizes the error that he made now."

"Six-year-olds and guns, it shouldn’t be happening," neighbor Mike McCollum said.

Posing a child with a gun is not specifically illegal, but police said they are looking into possible charges.

"Things that we look at are to make sure there is not child endangerment or a failure to protect type situation," Hill said.

Police said they are concerned about the effect this may have on the girl.

"The things that she’s exposed to at 6 years old are going to reflect on how she behaves when she gets older," Hill said.

The detrimental impact of absentee fathers on their children is undeniable.

In this case, the little girl probably would be better off if her father wasn't around.

Very sad.

The father has not been criminally charged in connection with the pictures of his daughter, but he was arrested. As a five-time convicted felon, it is illegal for him to possess a firearm. He was also charged with grand theft and dealing stolen property.

What sort of father thinks it's funny to take photos of his 6-year-old little girl pointing a gun at the camera?

A very bad one.

Should a five-time convicted felon have custody of a child?
