Finally.
The Wisconsin U.S. senators have committed themselves as superdelegates.
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
In a statement, Feingold said: "I congratulate both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton on their hard fought campaigns.
"I have had the good fortune of working with Senator Clinton and Senator Obama on a wide variety of issues. Either one would be an outstanding president for all Americans.
"I've spoken with Senator Obama and made it clear that he could count me as an endorsing supporter of his at the Democratic Convention this August. Senator Obama is an effective leader, capable of leading our country into a new era, and I look forward to doing everything I can to ensure his success this November."
Meanwhile, Kohl's statement said: "Both candidates ran spectacular campaigns, and it's clear that either would make a great President. We were fortunate to have two exceptional candidates who were willing to put themselves forward and work tirelessly these many months, and for that they have our gratitude.
"Now that Senator Obama has won the nomination, we can unite behind his historic candidacy. He has worked to restore the trust of so many Americans who are clamoring for a new direction. I endorse and fully support Senator Obama's candidacy and will work to see that he is elected in November."
It sounds like Feingold wants something from Obama. I think he knows he couldn't possibly be a chosen as his running mate, but perhaps he's hoping to be tapped for a cabinet post. The real prize for Feingold would be the Supreme Court. He has a lot of competition. Feingold does have the Wisconsin battleground state edge.
Kohl, on the other hand, sounds like someone woke him up from a nap.
Work for Obama? OK. ZZZZZZZZZZZ
