Wisconsin Superdelegates Herb and Russ

Today is Barack Obama's Super Tuesday.

The Associated Press has declared Obama to be the Dem presidential nominee.

Barack Obama has clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, becoming the first black candidate to lead a major party into a campaign for the White House. Hillary Rodham Clinton swiftly signaled her interest in joining his ticket as running mate.

Obama sealed his nomination victory Tuesday, based on public declarations from many "superdelegates" as well as private support from others who confirmed their intentions to The Associated Press.

Jimmy Carter will endorse Obama officially later today.

I think it's time for Herb Kohl to get off the fence. Kohl admits that as well.

From The Nation:

"It's time," said U.S. Senator Herb Kohl, the senior Democratic workhorse from Wisconsin who had resisted making an endorsement in the race for the party's presidential nomination out of a desire to maintain productive relations with colleagues Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Kohl, after more than a few consultations with Obama, will announce his position this week -- perhaps even today.

The same goes for a dozens of other Democratic National Convention super-delegates who during the course of the final day of the party's long primary season will endorse the senator from Illinois.

The Obama campaign, which has been accused of not being able to "close the deal" in the race for the nomination, is orchestrating a massive push to do just that on what they hope will be their real "Super Tuesday."

Yes, it's time, Herb.

Is there any question at this point which side of the fence he'll choose?

I'm going to really go out on a limb here and predict that Kohl will support...

Obama.

Another prediction: Russ Feingold, maverick that he is, will not officially declare his support for Obama.

He has often said that he would be likely to align himself with the choice of Wisconsin voters. That would be Obama.

I think he's going to be one of the last superdelegates to commit.

Why? Because he can.
