Total Failure Nancy Pelosi Attacks Bush

Nancy Pelosi has lashed out at President Bush, calling him a "total failure."

WASHINGTON -- President Bush has been a "total failure" in everything from the economy to the war to energy policy, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday.

In an interview on CNN, the California Democrat was asked to respond to video of the president criticizing the Democratic-led Congress for heading into the final 26 days of the legislative session without having passed a single government spending bill.

Pelosi shot back in unusually personal terms.

"You know, God bless him, bless his heart, president of the United States, a total failure, losing all credibility with the American people on the economy, on the war, on energy, you name the subject," Pelosi replied. She then tsk-tsked Bush for "challenging Congress when we are trying to sweep up after his mess over and over and over again."

...Pelosi's outburst was a departure. Her usual practice in public has been to call Bush's policies a failure — not his presidency or him, personally. Pelosi's remarks are the latest evidence of the Democrats' throw-caution-to-the-wind approach to Bush in the waning days of a presidency weighed down by an unpopular war and soaring gasoline prices.

...Pelosi's counterpart in the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid, long ago took off the rhetorical gloves. Last month, he ridiculed Republicans who sided with Bush on a Medicare bill.

"Who would be afraid of him?" Reid, D-Nev., said as many senators looked on. "He's got a 29 percent approval rating."

The public's view of Congress is even worse. Its approval rating has hit a new low of just 18 percent, down from 23 percent last month, according to a new AP-Ipsos poll. Bush's approval is at 28 percent, about even with the 29 percent rating last month.

Well, God bless Nancy's heart!

Poor thing. She's a desperate, spiteful woman. She doesn't want to admit that President Bush deserves tremendous credit for keeping the country safe after the 9/11 attacks.

Bush hasn't lost as much credibility with the American people as the Democrat controlled Congress.

Reid is a fool for bringing up Bush's approval rating. As low as Bush's ratings have been, the ratings for Congress have been consistently and significantly lower. Bush certainly shouldn't be afraid of Reid or Pelosi.

That 18 percent approval rating for Congress in the new AP-Ipsos poll is double what Rasmussen found earlier in the month.

The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.

The polls have different numbers but the findings are the same. Approval ratings for Congress continue to plummet and are at historical lows.

No wonder Pelosi is attacking Bush and trying to deflect attention away from her absolutely disastrous performance.

So are these very personal slams coming from Pelosi indicative of the direction that the Democrat Party wants to take the country?

Where's the change that Barack Obama is promising?

The Dems aren't ushering in change. It's the same old, same old. Actually, the Dems might be offering some change, by being more poisonous and divisive than ever.

Why should Americans believe that Obama and the Dems are offering a new brand of politics? The Dems aren't offering that at all.

Bush will be recorded as the worst President in our history. He and his disciples have all but destroy the democractic principles outline in our Constitution i.e. separation of powers, the Bill of Rights, purpose of the war powers of the executive. IN ADDTION - THEY (Bush People) are guilty of lies and distortions of their actions domestically and international since they have taken office. Wake up America!

Pelosi's only achievement since becoming Speaker has been the change in the congressional lunch menu. What happened to ending the war? Ousting the president? If anything her term so far has been the total failure.

Exactly, Dave. Pelosi really is a total failure.

What campaign promise did the Dems keep?

Anonymous, that line that the Bush Administration has shredded the Constitution is so old and tired and completely untrue. It's completely ineffective, ineffective as Nancy Pelosi.

Bush is the worst president in American history. Bush facilitated the 9/11 attacks. Subsequently, Bush lied to Congress and the American people relative to the reasons for invading Iraq. Bush purposefully misled Congress and the American people. Then, Bush murdered more than 4,000 United States service members. And Bush wounded more than 30,000 United States service members. In torturing prisoners of war, Bush patently violated the Geneva Convention. Bush unlawfully wiretapped United States citizens. In using “signing statements” to challenge hundreds of laws passed by Congress, Bush violated the Constitution. Bush has ignored global warming. Bush is guilty of criminal negligence relative to the response to Hurricane Katrina. Bush disobeys our democratic values and Constitution. Bush is a disgrace to the United States.

Pelosi is right: Bush is a total failure.

Oh yeah, listen to the democrats, after all, Bush "murdered" more than 4,000 soliders in the entire 7 year war. The saddest thing, Planned Parenthood murders more Americans in one week than all US soliders in the entire Iraq war. Pro-abortion democrats such as Pelosi love to use Planned Parenthood as a pet project. Say what you want, in 2012 I will be voting a straight ticket Republican.
