ACORN, Voter Fraud, and the Milwaukee Election Commission

On the voter fraud front--

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

At least six voter registration workers could face criminal investigations after turning in 200 to 300 fraudulent registration cards, according to the Milwaukee Election Commission and the activist group that employed them.

In one case, "one woman called us to complain because her husband has been dead for 10 years and a voter registration was submitted," said Sue Edman, the commission's executive director.

In other cases, deputy registrars working for ACORN were "making people up or registering people that were still in prison," said Carolyn Castore, ACORN's state political director.

In still other cases, workers used the same address for numerous voters or used driver's license numbers that did not fit the voters' birth dates, Edman said.

ACORN found the problems and fired a dozen workers, Castore said. But under state law, all of the voter registration cards had to be turned in to the election commission, even if they were clearly fraudulent or incomplete, Edman and Castore said. So ACORN sent in the cards but flagged the fraudulent or incomplete ones, they said.

It's a battle to assure the integrity of elections.

There are people out there who are actively trying to undermine the system.

Just out of curiosity, what else should ACORN have done here, besides review every one of the 35,000 registration cards and fire anyone whose work was sloppy and turn over evidence to city officials? Is there a step they skipped in there somewhere?

It's not that ACORN did the wrong thing in this situation.

It's that ACORN's policies lead some workers to commit fraud.

Voter registration is a noble effort, but it has to be done in a noble fashion.

mary is a bit ahead of reality here...
fraud was not committed or attempted, as none of the suspect registrations were submitted as valid.

Only when the form is legally submitted, to an official entity, is fraud applicable.

Until then, its just a piece of paper.

The Milwaukee Elections Commission is not one of the legal entities. It cannot register voters, unless a staffer has become a Special Registration Deputy of the Government Accountability Board.
It has no authority to fine, punish or even charge an election realted violation.
It is part of the very partisan Milwaukee Mayor's office; which prevents it from having any election authority.

You say I'm "a bit ahead of reality."

I guess the Milwaukee Election Commission is as well.

Come on. Is it really that difficult to understand?

States do not validate US citizenship when people register to vote. The California, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida non-citizen vote will put John McCain in the White House. The Democrats who have allow non-citizens to vote since HAVA 2002 (only a utility bill as a means of identification meets the standards outline by HAVA 2002) are now indirectly allowing non-citizens to elect John McCain to be the next President. Non-citizen Hispanics will not vote for Obama and they do not tell people taking the polls who they are going to vote for because the are under the radar, remember the States DO NOT VALIDATE US CITIZENSHIP when people register to vote and rarely prosecute because liberal judges will not find them guilty unless they admit their guilt so there not fear of getting caught. John McCain will be the next President of the United States not because of White Racism but non-citizens who think Blacks (in their mind) are getting a free ride, while they have to work at slave labor wages. Remember the TV ads directed at Spanish speaking voters, to be a citizen you have a basic understanding of the English language these ads where for the non-citizen Spanish speaking voter.

Stand by on election night when Barrack Obama has up to 8 point leads in California, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida and then John McCain wins those STATES.
