Joe Biden is Catholic.
Is he anti-abortion?
Biden says life begins at conception. Apparently, he doesn't consider it above his pay grade to make that determination. Obama, of course, refused to say when a baby gets human rights.
Is Catholic Biden going to speak out against Obama's extremism on abortion and condemn him for supporting infanticide?
Catholic Biden supports federal funding to expand embryonic stem cell research. Didn't he say that life begins at conception?
That's inconsistent. Catholic Biden supports using human life as raw material for research and destroying human life for experimentation.
I don't see how Biden's religion will sway Catholics to vote for the Dem ticket, given the fact that Biden hasn't used his seat in the Senate to promote a Culture of Life.
John Kerry's Catholicism didn't help him in 2004. Kerry lost the Catholic vote to Bush by 5 percentage points.
Biden is Catholic. So what?
And another thing--
The Dems and their mouthpieces in the lib media are repeating the mantra, "Joe Biden is a blue-collar guy."
He is?
Do blue-collar guys get hair plugs?
Seriously.

"Biden the Catholic" is like saying "Osama bin Laden the American Patriot."

Voting For Pro-Abortion Candidates Is "Evil" Kansas Bishops Say
Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) -- The Catholic bishops in Kansas have released a new voter's guide that makes it clear supporting a candidate who favors legal abortions is "evil." In the joint document, they say Catholic voters would "commit moral evil" by backing candidates who support abortion, euthanasia or embryonic research.
Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City and Bishops Ronald Gilmore of Dodge City, Paul Coakley of Salina, and Michael Jackels of Wichita joined together to endorse the document.
They lay out a very clear argument against abortion and how voting for pro-abortion candidates promotes the violation of Church teaching.
Despite the motives voters may have for supporting pro-abortion candidates, acts that "involve doing evil" such as "elective abortion, euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, the destruction of embryonic human beings in stem cell research, and human cloning" must be opposed.
"Such acts are judged to be intrinsically evil, that is, evil in and of themselves regardless of our motives or the circumstances. They constitute an attack against innocent human life," they say.
"In light of the above we would commit moral evil if we were to vote for a candidate who takes a permissive stand on those actions that are intrinsically evil when there is a morally-acceptable alternative," they explain.
Catholic voters who support pro-abortion candidates like Barack Obama often justify their decision by saying the candidate is in step with Catholic on other political issues.
The Kansas bishops address that and seem to support voting for the anti-abortion candidate because he supports taking fewer lives than the pro-abortion candidate.
"So when there is no choice of a candidate that avoids supporting intrinsically evil actions, especially elective abortion, we should vote in such a way as to allow the least harm to innocent human life and dignity," the bishops say.
"We would not be acting immorally therefore if we were to vote for a candidate who is not totally acceptable in order to defeat one who poses an even greater threat to human life and dignity," they conclude.
Look, all of this discussion about Biden is academic. Hillary got treated like a nobody by Obama and his handlers, controllers, or whatever. According to press accounts, the Clinton machine is pissed.
No matter what is said in Denver*, if Hillary is not the nominee after the convention, the Clintons will make sure Obama is not elected. If Obama is elected control of the Democratic party is no longer the Clinton's. Obama loses and HIllary is automatically the front runner for 2012, the campaign will begin immediately, and the Clintons will retain control of the party.
Obama is toast and I doubt that he even has a clue.
*We've all learned a long time ago, don't listen to what the Clintons say, watch what they do. In fact, it might be smart for the Clintons to make all nicey nice with Obama in Denver to put him off guard for what will be coming down the pike.
McCain just needs to not screw up and the Presidency is his.
I'm really sick of hearing the talking heads say that Biden being Catholic is such a plus for the ticket.
He's pro-abortion and pro-embryonic stem cell research.
Given his positions, I think the Obama campaign should downplay Biden's religion.
Yes, Hillary and Bill are pissed by how the Obama camp has treated them. Just as significant is that Hillary's supporters are pissed.
Hillary won't be on the ballot in November, but I think she'll be a spoiler.
Biden is as Catholic as Nancy Pelosi. Both claim to be faithful Catholics but live another thing with their lives and public policy. His support for abortion would seem to eliminate his ability to be a Catholic in good standing. Per Church Teaching, Senator Biden has automatically excommunicated himself by his public and vocal support and votes in support of abortion.
