Barack Obama is promising to change politics in Washington. He wants to usher in a new era of unity, peace, love, and understanding.
Why would he chose Joe Biden to be his running mate, the antithesis of what Obama claims to be selling?
JOE BIDEN: "This is bullshit, this is malarkey. This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset... and make this kind of ridiculous statement."
BIDEN: "The president has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran, and if he does, as Foreign Relations Committee chairman, I will move to impeach… If you're going to impeach George Bush, you better impeach Cheney first."
BIDEN: "This guy (Bush) is brain dead."
BIDEN: "Mr. President I have a message for you: the only thing that is emboldening the enemy is your failed policy."
BIDEN: "[Bush] has no credibility. No one believes the president of the United States on matters of foreign policy."
This selection of Biden bites shows that Obama isn't about changing Washington at all. That's all empty rhetoric.
Maybe Biden appeals to Obama because in some ways he reminds him of his dear pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Biden calling the sitting president of the United States brain dead is taking the lowest road possible.
Biden threatening impeachement is not a moderate position.
Biden is more liberal than moderate, though he did vote against partial-birth abortion.
Will Biden change his position on that issue to fall in line with the extremist Obama? Will he defend infanticide now?
I think Obama would have been better off choosing a more radical liberal than Biden to be his running mate.
Biden doesn't add balance to the ticket. He just makes Obama look more extreme and out of touch with mainstream American values.
