Mario A. White and the Brat Days Parade

Mario A. White, 21, is an incredibly lucky man.

He's likely to be charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing injury. It's a miracle that he's not going to be charged for causing death.

From the Sheboygan Press:

Mario A. White, 21, is expected to be charged with operating while intoxicated causing injury after the car he was driving crashed at the intersection of North 14th Street and Erie Avenue, blowing a tire, hopping the curb and coming to rest on the sidewalk in front of Walgreens in view of hundreds of parade spectators.

Four people were hurt, although none of the injuries were believed to be serious. The injured included Capt. James Veeser of the Sheboygan Police Department, who was directing parade traffic, and 7-year-old Nicholas Bruns of Sheboygan. Two elderly women visiting from Hudson were taken to Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, where they were treated for cuts and bruises and released.

According to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, a 911 caller reported at 9:23 a.m. that a silver Mercury Grand Marquis was being driven erratically near Interstate 43 and state Highway 42. Pursuit of the car by two squads began after it exited at state Highway 23 and headed eastbound at about 80 mph, straight into the route of the parade, which was coming west along Erie.

The car slowed to about 60 mph upon reaching North 23rd Street, where the sheriff’s department called off the pursuit because of the crowds up ahead.

...Parade spectators held White on the ground until deputies arrived. Witnesses seemed amazed that a tragedy had been averted.

White is really screwed up.

He's driving drunk and involved in a high speed chase at 9:30 in the morning.

He drives right into the parade route!

It really is amazing that no one was killed.

Thank God.

I wonder how long it will take before White is back on the road, driving drunk.

He'll be back. That's the way it works in Wisconsin.

The repeat offender stuff in Wisconsin is a serious threat to public safety.
