Team USA: Two Americas

Since August 8, 2008, the country has been united, cheering on our Olympic team.

For 17 days, we were on the same team.

That's over.

A seismic shift in the national mindset will occur as we move from Olympic mode to political convention mode.

Time to take sides. Time to divide. Pick a team.

I'm not saying that's bad. It's our political process.

Still, it's a jolt to have been on the same team for the last couple of weeks and overnight we split up and become adversaries.

Oh well. That's the way it goes.

Let the games begin.
