Election Suit Issues ARE Clear-cut

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen's lawsuit against the state's elections authority is now a political fight as much as it is a legal battle.

...But the issue isn't as clear-cut as the two sides portray it.

It seems very clear-cut to me.

J.B. Van Hollen is doing what the people of Wisconsin elected him to do -- be the state's chief law enforcement officer, the "Top Cop."

Van Hollen is suing to get state officials to comply with the Help America Vote Act of 2002.

Democrats believe that the federal law shouldn't be enforced. They claim that Van Hollen's suit is motivated by politics.

I don't get that. IT'S THE LAW. Van Hollen didn't write that federal law.

The Journal Sentinel article highlights a glaring contradiction by the Dems. I'm sure that was unintentional.

From the top of the article: "Democrats claim thousands of people may lose the right to vote because of the suit..."

From the Q & A section:

Q. What happens to voters who think they're registered to vote but find that they're not when they get to the polls?

A. People who discover they are not registered when they get to the polls can register to vote then. They will have to provide their name, address, proof of residence and Wisconsin driver's license or ID number (if they have one) or the last four digits of their Social Security number (if they don't have a state license or ID). Those without proof of residence can register if another qualified voter can vouch for them.

The Democrats are flat-out wrong when they say that thousands may lose the right to vote because of the suit.

NO ONE IS LOSING THE RIGHT TO VOTE. NO ONE.

The Journal Sentinel makes that clear in the Q & A:

"People who discover they are not registered when they get to the polls can register to vote then.

NO ONE IS LOSING THE RIGHT TO VOTE.

Wisconsin is not above the law and Van Hollen is rightly insisting that state officials follow it.

It's all very clear-cut.

and so what if you are allowed to vote but your vote is placed in a pile of non counted votes? i've been through your blog and you are quite clearly a closed minded bigot. I advise you to hastily do some internal reflection and to challenge some of your questionable logic. It doesn't make any sense for a human being to be this ignorant and educated.

I pity you.

It's sad when someone feels the need to lash out the way you are. It's an approach taken by the weak.

I am listing my comments again to say how outraged I am at the SNL
skit about incest in Gov. Palin's home!!I have said I would find infomation on their owner,GE.

"GE"makes and owns everything!!!
General Electric makes microvaes,
freezers, dishwashers, cooking ranges,a FEW of their brands are
"KithchenAid" "Maytag",Amana.
JennAir,Frigidare,Carrier, and so many Ican not name them all!You can simply type in "General Electric products, and you will get pages and
pages of brands they own.Plese continue to voice your outrage,by contacting GE,owner of NBC,and therefore respnsible for SNL prgramming, and by not buying ANY of these brand names...
People listen better when you talk through their money.

I am so new to "blogging!"
