Joe Biden and Barbara West

Joe Biden can't stand the heat.

He really got angry during a satellite interview with Barbara West of WFTV-Channel 9 in Orlando.

A vein probably would have popped out on his forehead if his eyes and forehead hadn't been so stretched and immobilized.

He was mad.

In fact, the Obama campaign was so ticked off by Biden being confronted with some tough questions that it actually cancelled a scheduled interview with Jill Biden.

"The campaign cited 'an unprofessional interview' WFTV's Barbara West did Thursday with Joe Biden," reports the Orlando Sentinel. "In a statement Friday, Adrianne Marsh, Florida spokeswoman for Obama's campaign, said the station, in talking with Sen. Biden, was 'both combative and woefully uninformed about simple facts. ... In a line of questioning that would make Rush Limbaugh proud, West even went as far as to quote Karl Marx, a Communist icon, in a disturbing attempt to associate Barack Obama with socialism.'"

Boo hoo.

Watch Biden's interview.

I don't think West was unprofessional.

If Biden and the Obama campaign can't answer tough questions from a reporter, I certainly don't trust them with national security.

Biden did "GUARANTEE" that an international crisis is coming if Obama is elected.

I don't want Obama and Biden answering that 3:00 am phone call.

They aren't up to the job.

ABC's Jake Tapper seems to think that the questions Barbara West asked Biden were a bit unusual.

He writes, "Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., got asked some rather interesting questions from Orlando TV reporter on Thursday.

Biden to Orlando TV Anchor: 'Are You Joking? Is This a Joke? Or Is That a Real Question?'

The questions are:

---If Biden is "embarrassed about the blatant attempt to register phony voters by ACORN," since Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., worked with the organization in the past;

---If Obama's comment about wanting tax policies that "spread the wealth" is "a potentially crushing political blunder";

---"You may recognize this famous quote: 'from each according to his abilities to each according to his needs.' That's from Karl Marx. How is Sen. Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to spread the wealth around?";

---Regarding Biden's comment that the world would test Obama and the Obama-Biden administration will need the support of Americans since it might not be immediately apparent Obama did the right thing -- "Are you forewarning Americans that nothing will be done and America's days as the world's leading power are over?"

---"What do you say to the people that are concerned that Barack Obama will want to turn America into a Socialist country like Sweden?"

Biden seems quite taken aback by the anchor's questions, at one point asking her, "Are you joking? Is this is a joke? Or is that a real question?"

I think it's about time someone in the media asked these questions.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West."

...WFTV news director Bob Jordan said, "When you get a shot to ask these candidates, you want to make the most of it. They usually give you five minutes."

Jordan said political campaigns in general pick and choose the stations they like. And stations often pose softball questions during the satellite interviews.

"Mr. Biden didn't like the questions," Jordan said. "We choose not to ask softball questions."

Jordan added, "I'm crying foul on this one."

I agree with WFTV news director Bob Jordan.

Biden couldn't handle the questions. The Obama-Biden campaign had a hissy fit and now won't talk to WFTV.

Biden is a wimp if those questions proved to be too much for him.

This is another instance of Barack Obama trying to control the media and running from legitimate questions, silencing voices he doesn't want to hear.

Very disturbing.

This isn't the Soviet Union. This isn't communist China. This is America.

I think obama and Biden are what Texans say....All hat and no cowboy. there is no substance to what they say. They have no backbone and are not what this country needs. Obama has surrounded himself with people of questionable character, which, has called into question his character. Biden has been a dolt in the senate for many, many years. It just goes to show what the democrat's are made of. I was in the Army, and our mantra was..."Never give up....never surrender" I don't think that Biden..much less Obama... Has the metle to lead this country, Much less a kindergarden class. Now on the same hand..do In think that McCain has all the answers... No.... But I do believe he has the country's best interest at heart. Signed... a Pissed off Independent

This is preview of coming attractions of how the Democrats will treat the press after their power is secured. Tough question? Too bad. We're not answering. After Obama is elected the press will be scratching their collective head wondering what the heck happened especially since they helped get them elected. All of this is too funny.

BTW, I'm half Texan and I've always heard the afore mentioned saying as "Big hat, no cattle," which, I agree, is a perfect description of Obama/Biden.

I thought Barbara West was courageous and asked the questions that so many Americans have been wanting for SOMEONE to ask. I also decided to give my comment on a few liberal boards that were roasting Ms West. I was told that my comments would be listed with my email address and name. Is that the way they keep away any who have different viewpoints? I guess it is that or - harassment like Joe the plumber received. Pretty scary to think they have a chance at the Presidency - hopefully MONEY won't buy the Presidency!

Barbara West was very unprofessional and extremely bias. She was absurd in using the Republicans' talking points. I think that she is about to tarnish her reputation as a professional journalist. You can ask tough questions but you don't use loaded questions this way. I use to watch channel 9, but I'm resetting my DVR to default to WESH TV.

I think it's very telling that Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric were applauded by the Left for their high profile interviews with Sarah Palin, yet Leftists can't handle Barbara West's interview with Biden.
