Stealing the Election: Ohio Homeless Driven to Polls

America, we have a problem.

The integrity of the presidential election is being undermined.

ACORN is working overtime, amassing fraudulent voter registrations, especially in swing states.

And in Ohio, the heist is underway.

From FOX News:

Volunteers supporting Barack Obama picked up hundreds of people at homeless shelters, soup kitchens and drug-rehab centers and drove them to a polling place yesterday on the last day that Ohioans could register and vote on the same day, almost no questions asked.

The huge effort by a pro-Obama group, Vote Today Ohio, takes advantage of a quirk in the state's elections laws that allows people to register and cast ballots at the same time without having to prove residency.

Republicans have argued that the window could lead to widespread voter fraud because officials wouldn't have an opportunity to verify registration information before ballots were cast.

More on Ohio, from RedState:

With polling trends like they are, Barack Obama might win Ohio outright, but his campaign and its surrogates are leaving nothing to chance. In a procedure designed to encourage voter fraud, Ohio’s Democrat Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, is doing her best to game the system for Obama.

On August 13, 2008, Secretary Brunner ordered a voter registration system that allowed same day voter registration and dispersals of absentee ballots to same day registrants. To compound the problem, Secretary Brunner has encouraged local elections officials to turn away poll watchers.

Under Ohio law, Republican and Democrat poll watchers are entitled to oversee the elections process on Election Day. The law is silent as to early voting. Secretary Brunner has interpreted that to mean poll watchers are prohibited. WTAM Radio in Cleveland last week challenged Secretary Brunner’s Press Secretary, Jeff Ortega, to explain why poll watchers were being prohibited from watching the on-going voting in Ohio. Mr. Ortega hung up on the radio host questioning him instead of answering the question.

At the same time Secretary Brunner is encouraging same day voter registration and voting, she has tried to throw out absentee ballots arranged by the Ohio Republican Party. Ohio law does not require absentee voters to check a box on their absentee ballot affirming they are “qualified voters.” Ohio law clearly states the voter’s signature is all that is required. Notwithstanding the law, Secretary Brunner ruled that if a voter did not check a box affirming the voter is qualified, the voter’s ballot would not be counted. The Ohio GOP, sending out its absentee ballots, had added the unneeded check box in error to its absentee ballot forms, thereby enabling Brunner to throw out all the ballots. The Ohio Supreme Court last week reversed Brunner’s decision, ruling that a signature would be acceptable.

This all makes voting in Ohio increasingly problematic and open to fraud. The Democratic Party is aggressively recruiting the homeless to vote. As one Democratic operative explained on film, “It's a perfect opportunity for them to come in, register at a temporary address like a homeless shelter or a YMCA or something like that. They can register at that address because they don't know where they're going to be tomorrow or next week." [Emphasis added.]

Blogger Maggie Thurber, who lives in Ohio, noted one instance where a homeless man admitted he was not from Ohio but was bussed in to vote and would then be going back to Chicago. This was at a location where a Republican poll watcher had been turned away by elections officials.

This isn't just a problem for Ohioans.

This is a problem for Americans.

We all are disenfranchised when fraud occurs.

I have NO faith that Ohio's election results will be valid. NONE.

At home, I know that Jim Doyle and Democrats in Wisconsin have managed to keep the state open as a land of opportunity for voter fraud.

This is a disgrace.

It's terribly disheartening to know that I'm being disenfranchised by Democrats in Wisconsin. My vote won't carry the weight that it should because Doyle and the Dems want it that way for their personal political gain.

It's crushing to know that the success of the pro-Obama voter fraud efforts will be a factor in the presidential election.

Fraud could decide the next president of the United States.

Cheating is the only way the Democrats can win.

Democrats have essentially declared war on the United States.

But, not enough people in the country care and vote. These operative know this and will take advantage however they can. These operatives are amoral. The resulting leadership will be a direct reflection of these operatives and will likely also include intimidation if anybody disagrees with them. See what happened at WGN for future attractions. With the Democrats in total control of the government who knows what will happen in the first two years before the culprits can be voted out of office in the off year election. What is happening is pretty scary. The non-engaged, non-voting public are going to be very surprised how their lives are going to change and they won't have a clue as to how any of it happened. Then they'll figure out that it might be too late to do anything about it.

Why is it fraud to encourage homeless people to register to vote? They may not have a nice house, but they are still Americans and have just as much right to vote as you do.

Cheating is the only way the Democrats can win?

I think they can also win if they focus on the economic, financial and housing crisis we are in rather than digging around in garbage bins for any scrap of distracting "news" and "character concerns".

Do you think they're also cheating on ALL of the emerging poll numbers?

The Democrats have a history of sinking the United States into economic trouble and malaise. There actions are always counter productive to individuals and businesses growing the economy. They want to grow government first. It will be no different this time.

Obama has an economic plan? That's news to me. All I hear out of his mouth is hyperbole, propaganda and vapid rhetoric.

Homeless have a right to vote? They have the same rights and have to follow the same rules as everybody else. Try to pin down their residence and how long they've lived at that particular location and then get back to me. Oh, and be sure to check their criminal record as well.

"The Democrats have a history of sinking the US into economic trouble and malaise."

Well this is the mother of all economic trouble and malaise and I don't think the Democrats have been in the White House for the last 8 years and controlled Congress for 10 of the last 12 years.

It's not fraud for homeless people to vote. This isn't class warfare.

It's fraud to have a guy bussed in from Chicago to register and vote in Ohio.

[A] homeless man admitted he was not from Ohio but was bussed in to vote and would then be going back to Chicago. This was at a location where a Republican poll watcher had been turned away by elections officials.

Almost no questions asked, no accountability -- That's the problem.

"...and I don't think the Democrats have been in the White House for the last 8 years and controlled Congress for 10 of the last 12 years."

Bush is a disaster but it really is amazing how little time it took Pelosi, Reid and the Democratic controlled Congress to really mess up the entire world's economy. Thanks Barney and company, I hope you're sleeping well.

As a great man once said:

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.

My guess is you're not going to fool enough of the people in this election that the quagmire we are in economically and financially is a result Democrats having a majority in Congress for the last 2 years alone. Anyone who knows how Congress works, knows it simply is not feasible.

It's not about fooling anyone.

It's about the truth and taking responsibility.

The fact is the Dems bear some responsibility for the economic mess.

The fact that Obama WILL NOT acknowledge that Democrats have ANY culpability in the world's credit crisis (that has already brought one country to its knees) is enough of a reason to vote against him.

And, does anybody really think the Democratic Congress whose members have been in office for years and years will listen to Obama, who is still wet behind the years? Please. Obama will be the Eunuch President. Nothing more.

I'm so sick of Obama getting a pass.

The media are truly negligent.

If Obama has to cheat this early in the game, whats that tell you about his sense of honor, & fair play. I could care less what color Obama is.. the fact that Democrats are the ones that got us in the oil crisis, by making a pac with Opec to buy all our oil from them & stop drilling ourselfs. You can blame democrats for creating the welfare system.. Look what thats got us.. A generation of Lazy couch potatoes. It was the democrats back in the 80's that gave millions of Illegal aliens amnesty. I can hardly wait for this set of illegals to get their amnesty.. Our children will be dealing with the next group thats lucky enough to sneak in & stay under the radar..Oh yeah!!.. They've done a hell of a job for this country. And now that they have the majority in the two houses, nothing gets done because they only things they want to push thru, are bills to crease their buddies hands in their home states. Don't get me wrong, I don't have the warm fuzzies for republicans either. I think they're all liers, & Crooks.. but given the choices we have.. I'll stick to having a republican president who can & will Veto all the pork barrel crap coming out of congress..

I think I heard that Ohio has finished its investigation of voter fraud. Could you do a follow up article on what they found?

No.

Time is a bitch. It's finite.

I invite you to post here whatever information you'd like on the subject. (Make sure you cite your sources.)
