Custer High School Fights

Violence and chaos reigned at another Milwaukee public high school yesterday.

I guess this is the new normal -- get used to it.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Six adults and six teenagers were arrested after a series of fights broke out Thursday afternoon at Custer High School, according to Milwaukee police.

Two girls began fighting inside the school about 3:55 p.m., police said. While police officers were helping break up the fight, school security personnel told the officers that people from outside the school were trying to come inside.

Multiple fights then erupted outside the school, police said. Twelve squad cars were called to the school, and N. Sherman Blvd. was shut down from about W. Villard Ave. to W. Hampton Ave. while the fights were broken up, police said.

All 12 people who were arrested were cited for disorderly conduct and released, police said.

The six teens are Milwaukee Public Schools students, police said. One teen suffered minor injuries, they said.

The arrested adults ranged in age from 20 to 26.

These fights aren't just scuffles between kids. Adults get in the act.

Six adults were arrested at Custer yesterday. What are 20- to 26-year-olds doing hanging around a high school at 4:00 in the afternoon?

Twelve squad cars should not be needed to regain order at a high school. It's madness, madness funded by taxpayers.
