Chicago: Snuggie Pub Crawl

From WFLD:

There was no trouble hearing the crowd that turned out for Chicago's Snuggie Pub Crawl.

Two blocks in Lincoln Park were swarmed by people in the fuzzy, wearable blankets.

And if you think a 70 degree day is less than ideal for this kind of attire... you're right.

Dan Kuthy a Snuggie devotee: “It was warm this morning, people were sweating. So they turned on the fans and the a/c on in the registration room, so it helped a lot."

Kuthy who is also one of the guys who organized this flock of fleece-wearers blames -- or credits -- the Internet for turning the blanket with arms into a cultural touchstone.

After that -- asking a thousand people to show up on Lincoln Avenue seemed like a no brainer.

Kluthy: "The only thing that makes an Internet video or phenomenon better is adding drinking to it. It was a natural next step and that's why we brought this to life."

And it brought out more than just Kluthy's friends.

...Those Snuggie wearers had warm hearts underneath their cozy blankets. Through ticket sales and drink specials -- they're expected to raise about 20,000 dollars for a variety of charities.

A snuggie and the drink of your choice -- It doesn't get any better than this!
