Sometimes, Obama sounds stunningly naive.
Example:
President Barack Obama Friday warned America risked its security when it compromised its values, seeking support for his bid to sketch a new legal framework for anti-terror policies.
Obama used the backdrop of the US Naval Academy graduation ceremony to argue that founding US ideals must guide the future battle against terrorism, a day after trying to quell raging debate over Guantanamo Bay in a major speech.
"We uphold our fundamental principles and values not just because we choose to, but because we swear to -- not because they feel good, but because they help keep us safe," Obama told 30,000 graduating navy cadets and family members.
"When America strays from our values, it not only undermines the rule of law, it alienates us from our allies, it energizes our adversaries and it endangers our national security and the lives of our troops."
What a bunch of crap!
Obama claims that upholding our fundamental principles keeps us safe.
Really?
Why did Japan attack us on December 7, 1941?
Did we stray from our values under FDR?
FDR wasn't able to keep us safe.
Since we were attacked repeatedly during the 1990s, how does Obama explain that?
The roots of the 9/11 plot go back to 1996.
Is he suggesting that during Bill Clinton's administration, we strayed from our values, undermined the rule of law, alienated our allies, energized our adversaries, endangered our national security and the lives of our troops?
How does Obama explain the multiple attacks against the U.S. and U.S. interests that occurred in the '90s and into the 21st century?
Why were Islamic extremists at war with us when Clinton was in charge?
He doesn't say.
Obama speaks in platitudes.
Some people are impressed with what he has to say. I'm not. He doesn't make sense.
Maybe Obama isn't all that naive. It's possible that Obama is yapping those lines to appeal to his radical Leftist base. That's fine if he's campaigning, but that doesn't work as president. Really listen to what Obama says.
Obama proves again and again that he's not ready for prime time.

WTH is he talking about? or through? What are these fundamental values he swears to uphold? He swore to uphold the constitution of the United States of America, a document he feels is "flawed"
Not ready for Prime time? understatement.
The Constitution is a pretty cool document. You and Lee should read it sometime. In particular, Article I Section 9, Article III Section 2, and Amendments I, IV, V, VI and VIII.
Bush and Cheney swore to uphold the Constitution, and instead, blatantly disregarded it.

Kind of makes you feel proud, doesn't it?
