Drudge, the White House, ObamaCare, and the Truth

Obama and the White House know they're in trouble.

They're losing on health care reform.

Why?

BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE LEARNING WHAT'S IN THE BILL.

BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE LEARNING ABOUT OBAMA'S EMPTY PROMISES.

The White House is desperately trying to counter REALITY with spin.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House is turning to the Internet to hit back at a Web posting that claims to show President Barack Obama explaining how his health care reform plans eventually would eliminate private insurance.

The three-minute White House video features Linda Douglass, a former network television correspondent and now White House Office of Health Reform communications director, sitting in front of a computer screen showing the Drudge Report Web site. That site carries a series of video clips from another blogger who strings together selected Obama statements on health care to make it appear he wants to eliminate the private health insurance business.

In the video Douglas says the site is "taking sentences and phrases out of context, and they're cobbling them together to leave a very false impression."

Macon Phillips, the White House Director of New Media, writes a post on the White House Blog responding to the video clips of Obama clearly stating that he wants a single-payer system. Its title: "Facts are Stubborn Things."

Yes, Macon, they are. And that's your problem. That's Obama's problem.

Phillips posts a video of
Linda Douglass, the communications director for the White House’s Health Reform Office, trying to do damage control on Obama's goal of eliminating private health insurance coverage. As an example, she cites a link from the Drudge Report.

Douglass thinks that by showing a clip of Obama LYING to Americans, vowing that "If you have insurance that you like, then you will be able to keep that insurance," she debunks the video of Obama clearly saying that he wants a single-payer system.

She doesn't manage to debunk Obama's statement.

IT'S A FLAT-OUT LIE. There is no way that Obama can make that promise.

Obama couldn't make such a promise if he had no intention of subjecting Americans to government-run health care. It happens all the time under the current system. A business owner decides to alter insurance coverage for employees. Employees have to adjust.

It's crap to promise that Americans can keep their insurance if they like it, especially since the Democrats' reform plan offers incentives for business owners to go with Obama's socialized medicine. The plan metes out punishments for those resisting the government-run plan.

It's a very feeble attempt by the White House to use Obama's own lies to refute video of him saying that his goal is a single-payer system.

Here's UNCUT video of Obama talking about single-payer health insurance:

BARACK OBAMA: I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.

The White House loses this battle in the health care information war.

From the Whitehouse website:

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Yeah, that was written by Macon Phillips, White House Director of New Media.

Apparently, he's deputizing all the Obama sycophants.

The White House needs scouts. Rahm "The Enforcer" Emanuel can't be expected to find all the "uncooperative" types on his own.

Prediction: Obama will appoint a Fishy Czar.

The Dear Leader must think we're all as dumb as the people that voted for him, as he feels free to change his story at will and flip-flop on every issue- when you ask any questions about the constantly morphing narrative, you're a "hater"- please.

This is like how all videos show Obama pumping and stumping for Blago in 2003- then when he gets arrested, Obama says he had "nothing" to do with him. Same with Rezko.

Americans are quickly waking up to the fact that this president is habitually dishonest- can you imagine the towering arrogance of Obama, implying there's something wrong with US for not swallowing all his self-serving BS as fast as he can shovel it on your plate? What a jerk-

I've already seen plenty enough to keep me from ever believing a word that comes out of the guy's mouth... and that goes 2x for slimy Emanuel and Axelrod- all three of these crooks are used to getting away with murder in the Chicago Machine's racketeering embrace, and they freak out and initiate vicious Alinskyite counter-attacks when they're finally confronted.

I'm SO sick of these scumbags already- three-and-a-half years left of this?

(puke sounds here)

Yes, people are starting to listen and beginning to learn. Our goal should be to cover all individuals through private health insurance. We need to be advocates for greater transparency in both quality and price information - place both the decision making ability and healthcare dollars in the hands of the consumer. http://www.friendsoftheuschamber.com/takeaction/index.cfm?ID=40 .
