Bengals 31, Packers 24: Odom and Ochocinco

I really don't have much to say about the game other than that the Packers sucked.

Poor Aaron Rodgers, sacked FIVE times by Antwan Odom.

Odom became the first opponent to collect five sacks in a game at Lambeau since they became an official statistic for the 1982 season.

"Obviously that is a great individual performance that doesn't happen very often in the NFL," said Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, after his team's 31-24 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The only other player to collect five sacks in a game in Green Bay was Vonnie Holliday, who did so for the Packers against the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 22, 2002.

Odom's five sacks were the second-highest in the NFL since that time, behind only Osi Umenyiora, who had six for the New York Giants against Philadelphia in '07.

The late Derrick Thomas holds the NFL record with seven for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Seattle Seahawks in 1990.

"I still think it's a dream, I'm wondering when I'm going to wake up," Odom said.

What felt like a dream for Odom was a nightmare for Packers fans.

Rodgers needs protection and he's not getting it.

Another matter--

Chad Ochocinco.

Chad Ochocinco is kind of a nut. The guy's name is/was Chad Johnson. He wanted to be called Ocho Cinco, because the number of his jersey is 85. He actually legally changed his name to get people to call him that. That's a little unusual.

Can you imagine if Greg Jennings declared that he wanted to be called Greg Ochocinco?

Anyway, Ochocinco did do the Lambeau Leap. That was like rubbing salt in a wound.

After talking all week about his desire to jump into the stands after scoring a touchdown, Ochocinco crossed the goal line with 1:09 left in the third quarter on a 13-yard pass from Carson Palmer.

After waiting to make sure a flag was against the Packers, Ochocinco appealed to Packers fans to let him jump to them. There were no takers.

He found two Bengals fans farther down and did a cautious leap into more accepting arms.

"The leap was fun," Ochocinco said. "I had a little indecision. I would have jumped at first. I didn't want to disrespect their traditions, so I was asking as I went along the line. I saw some Bengals fans that said it was OK. I just went right there.

"I do respect the Packers and what they have going on with leap, so that's why I did it that way."

It was later revealed that the Bengals fans were planted there by Ochocinco. He arranged their seats through his Twitter account.

"Shhhh," Ochocinco said. "You can't be giving away my stuff, man."

What a jerk!

He staged it, but tried to pass it off as spontaneous. All that respect/disrespect talk was crap.

In addition to that stupidity, we have the Packer fan giving Ochocinco the finger, caught by the cameras and broadcast live.

I understand the fan's sentiments, but he had to know that his display would be seen by a lot of people. Not a good move.

What a frustrating game that was to watch. I don't know what's going on with this team, but I don't like what we're seeing from the coaching staff.

Too many penalties, no running game, no pass protection, and poor special teams. The defense looked poor, but I think that Dom Capers has a proven track record in this league and they will turn it around.

Hopefully, they get it together by Sunday.
