B. Bernice Young Elementary School Children Sing to Obama

UPDATE: New Crisper Version of ‘Obama Anthem’ School Song Provides Lyrical Clarity

Here's more, from WorldNetDaily:

Columnist Michelle Malkin identified the children being taught the chants and praises as attending B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington Township, N.J.

...Malkin wrote: "In case you were wondering … here are some new details. The video was originally posted in June 2009 by YouTube user 'brandnuwords." She has now removed the video…"

It later was reposted by other YouTube users.

But Malkin said she identified "brandnuwords" as Charisse Carney-Nunes, a senior vice president of The Jamestown Project who is described as "the award-winning author of the children's books 'I Am Barack Obama.'"

Her biography identifies her as a graduate of Harvard "where she was a schoolmate of President Obama."

Malkin said there haven't been responses to her inquiries to the school about whether Carney-Nunes had permission to use the children in the video or to Carney-Nunes.

"The Obama school song video that she taped shows her book featured on an easel next to the children hailing Dear Leader. She promotes her book as a tool that 'allows children to see themselves through the inspirational story of President Obama growing up as an ordinary child asking, Who will change the world? Ultimately, he realizes that he will,'" Malkin wrote.

From Exurban League:
An important update about the creepy video we posted yesterday. The Burlington Township School District, to which B. Bernice Youngs Elementary School belongs, posted the following Letter to Parents this morning.
Dear Burlington Township Families:

Today we became aware of a video that was placed on the internet which has been reported in the media. The video is of a class of students singing a song about President Obama. The activity took place during Black History Month in 2009, which is recognized each February to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country. Our curriculum studies, honors and recognizes those who serve our country. The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized.

If you have any further questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me or Dr. King, Principal of B. Bernice Young School, directly.

Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher M. Manno,
Superintendent of Schools

So the song was an official public school activity.

Really disturbing.

From FOX News, here are the lyrics to both songs.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, several videos of children singing the praises of Obama surfaced.

Here's the "Sing for Change" video.

The use of the children is creepy, but it was a Hollywood production. And it was posted on Obama's official campaign website -- briefly.

The Sing for Change website, now down, described the song this way:

Sing for Change chronicles a recent Sunday afternoon, when 22 children, ages 5-12, gathered to sing original songs in the belief that their singing would lift up our communities for the coming election. Light, hope, courage and love shine through these non-voting children who believe that their very best contribution to the Obama campaign is to sing.

Sing for Change was a confluence of hard work, good will, and shared vision. Inspired by ideas raised at a grassroots Obama fundraiser, a music teacher, Kathy Sawada, and the children composed and rehearsed the songs in less than two weeks. Several musicians heard of the effort and volunteered to accompany the children. Parents and older siblings designed and provided the T-Shirts and the banner. There’s a first for everything, but rarely do so many firsts come together at once: for the children and their parents, this is their first performance, first video, first banner, and first involvement with grassroots work on a presidential campaign.

As Sunday approached, a neighbor volunteered a home. Production wizards got wind of the project and offered their help in recording it. The likes of Jeff Zucker, Holly Schiffer, Peter Rosenfeld, Darin Moran, Jean Martin, Andy Blumenthal, and Nick Phoenix rearranged schedules to participate. Holly Schiffer was able to get three High Definition cameras (Panasonic HVX250’s), and an AVID editing facility. When Jeff Zucker went to pick up the camera package, Ted Schilowitz happened to be there and offered a RED camera set up on a SteadiCam.

What we accomplished in a few hours on a Sunday afternoon embodies the nature of the Obama campaign: its grassroots inspiration, its inclusiveness, its community building. People pitched in quickly for a cause that resonated with them. There were not many conditions: “Think this is a good idea? Want to help? Great. Sunday at 12:00.” At the heart of the project were 22 children and their music. The willingness of all involved to come together for them was a testament to our hope, unity, courage, joy and belief in the future represented by these children.

In the case of "Sing for Change," the parents were completely aware of their kids' participation in the production. The video was meant to help Obama's campaign. They knew that.

This was no amateur thing.

The video was produced by NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker, Holly Schiffer, Peter Rosenfeld, Darin Moran, Jean Martin, Andy Blumenthal, and Nick Phoenix.

The most recent video of kids organized to praise Obama isn't a gathering at a private home, like "Sing for Change."

It's different when it seems that young school kids are being taught to perform a tribute to the dear leader, Obama.

Do the parents all agree with this sort of adoration? Did they know about it?

I think this video is even more disturbing than the "Sing for Change" one, because it appears to be taking place in a school setting.

I wonder if those children can sing the National Anthem. Have they been taught that?

If it's a public school, they certainly can't sing "God Bless America."

I think it's weird these children are being taught to praise Obama through song.

They should sing about the greatness of America, not sing in worship to Obama.

It's difficult to make out the lyrics, but what can be heard clearly is just creepy.

Has Obama earned this sort of adulation?

LYRICS:

Mmm, mmm, mmm
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again.
Mmm, mmm, mmm
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work for equal pay.
Mmm, mmm, mmm
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance.
Mmm, mmm, mmm
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black and white
All are equal in his sight.
Mmm, mmm, mmm
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes, mmm, mmm, mmm,
Barack Hussein Obama

Another song--
Hello, Mr. President
We honor you today.
For all your great accomplishments
We all will do say hooray.
Hooray, Mr. President
You are number one
The first black American to lead this nation.
Hooray, Mr. President...

Hooray, Mr. President
We're really proud of you
And sing for all America-- the great red, white, and blue...

I'm not at all comfortable with children being caught up in this cult of personality.

What have these children been taught about Obama? I can't believe they have an understanding of the context of history and where Obama fits in.

This is indoctrination.

Video.

That makes my skin crawl.

It's so weird.

I keep thinking of the images of Iraqi kids serenading Saddam Hussein.
