'Teabaggers' - E.J. Dionne, George Stephanopoulos

Greg Hengler, Townhall.com Blog, writes about the use of "teabagger" by the lib media to refer to the Tea Party Movement and its participants.

The term has become so mainstreamed by the Obama-friendly media that they are able to say it without any sense of its inappropriateness or biased context.

Video.

During the roundtable segment of This Week with George Stephanopoulos, both Stephanopoulos and guest E.J. Dionne effortlessly incorporate the term into their comments about the midterm elections. They show no hesitation to use the derogatory term. It just rolls off the tongue.

Examples:

E.J. DIONNE: The conservative party in New York state put up a Right-wing candidate supported by the teabaggers.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: This hardcore part of the base is in a world unto its own right now. The Teabag Movement and the others are sort of driven by the idea that President Obama and the Democrats have a secret plan to impose socialism.

Offensive?

Yes.

Of course, the White House (Anita Dunn, David Axelrod, and Rahm Emanuel) considers ABC to be a legitimate news network, unlike the opinionated FOX News.

Sure. "The Teabag Movement" and "teabaggers" don't reveal any sort of bias at all.

ABC isn't pushing a perspective but FOX is.

Ridiculous.

What about the right referring to the president as "The Anointed One"?

You have to be more specific.

The "right"?

You have to provide names and context. That matters.

Does Chris Wallace, host of FOX News Sunday, refer to Obama as the "Anointed One"?

It's significant that vulgar terms like "teabagger" or "teabagging" are apparently acceptable on ABC's This Week.
