Mark Levin: Right vs. Left, Right vs. Wrong

On his program Thursday, Mark Levin drew distinctions between the Right and the Left, challenging the claim by some that dissent is unacceptable because supposedly the issues aren't about Right versus Left, but right versus wrong.

MARK LEVIN: If you're a conservative, don't buy this line: Well this is right versus wrong, not Right versus Left.

Right versus Left is right versus wrong. Who else defends the Constitution? Who else defends individual liberty? Who else is fighting this battle today? Are we joined by the Left? No, they're our enemy. Why is it that our political philosophy, our social and cultural philosophy, conservatism, shouldn't be held out as an example, as the only example, of the antidote to tyranny?

Yeah, this Right versus Left stuff... What do you mean this Right versus Left stuff? We're for liberty. They're not. We're the only ones arguing for this, that is, liberty – not the other side.

Government, government, government all the time. Always wanting to screw around with the individual.

You know what? I resent the fact that I or you or any of us have to tell the government how much we earn. What the hell business is it of the government? And if you want to have deductions, you've got to tell them more about your life – how many children you have, and what you're giving to what charity. Don't you resent that?

I am concerned about the government having too much control over my life right now. Based on the current path set forth by Obama and the Dems, government will become even more powerful, diminishing the power of the individual, creating dependence.

The country is going in the wrong direction.

Wow, it's gotten quiet here. Here's one (perhaps last) question for you: Where were all these concerns about freedom and defending the Constitution when GWB was illegally wiretapping US citizens, or holding J. Padilla without charge or trial, or denying the right to habeas corpus, or issuing hundreds of signing statements that he would not comply with Federal Law, or deleting White House emails - and the list goes on and on.

NOW our freedoms are at stake because Obama wants to help people buy health insurance and wants insurance companies to stop dropping people when they get sick? So apparently stretching the Constitution to help 43,000,000 people is bad, but shredding the Constitution to spy on, torture and kill people is perfectly fine??

Do you really believe that is the position Jesus would take if He were here today?
