Mark Neumann, Mark Green, and Scott Walker

Mark Neumann is on the attack.

Yesterday, Scott Walker received the endorsement of Mark Green, former Ambassador, Congressman, and Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate in 2006.

That didn't sit well with Neumann. He felt the need to attack Green's integrity.

“I was proud to work with Scott when we were lonely voices calling for fiscal responsibility as freshman state legislators in Madison back in 1993. I was proud to watch Scott take on the political machine in Milwaukee and build a movement based on accountability to the taxpayers. I will be proud to call Scott Walker my governor,” said Green. “Scott Walker’s common sense and commitment to fiscal discipline are exactly what Madison needs to get our state back on track and our economy growing again.”

“Mark Green is a tremendous public servant and friend, and I’m thankful for his support,” said Walker. “Mark knows firsthand that it takes a strong, engaged, statewide network of true grassroots supporters to run an effective campaign, and I appreciate him joining our team.” In 2006 Walker ended his campaign for the Republican nomination for governor, and united with Congressman Green to campaign against the damaging policies of Jim Doyle.

Unfortunately, Neumann decided to suggest that Green's endorsement relates to the 2006 race.

Here's Neumann's statement on Green's endorsement of Walker:

"Mark Green is an outstanding public servant and a fine Republican. It's no surprise he's endorsed Scott, since Scott quit the 2006 Governor's race for him.

"At the end of the day, average folks from across Wisconsin will decide this election. I'm focused on communicating my conservative message to those folks - the message of cutting spending and lowering taxes to create jobs. That's why we have nearly 50,000 Facebook fans, active supporters in every county, and a campaign with all the momentum confirmed by a series of independent polls."

Very snippy and inappropriate.

Mark Neumann needs to take the high road and focus on why he should be the next governor of Wisconsin. Sniping at Walker and insulting Mark Green over the endorsement is an ineffective strategy.

Stay positive.
