Tom Barrett Car: Suspended Registration

Does Tom Barrett care about the environment?

Apparently, he doesn't care enough.

From Mark Belling:

I have learned that one of the vehicles Tom Barrett is using to campaign across the state in his bid for governor has its vehicle registration suspended for not passing the emissions test. The car is owned by William Hyers, Barrett's campaign manager. State Department of Transportation officials say Hyers' vehicle registration has been suspended for months. The records do not indicate if Hyers' 2001 Oldsmobile Alero failed the emissions test or if Hyers simply didn't take the test.

In either case, the so-called environmental candidate for governor is riding around Wisconsin in a car whose registration is suspended for failing to comply with emissions requirements.

Barrett should not be using a vehicle with a suspended registration.

What is that?

He's not setting a good example for Wisconsin residents.

Of course, this should be on the front page, above the fold, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

It's not?

I'm shocked. Shocked!

_______________

Read about the award Tom Barrett received from the American Lung Association.

Green Fleet?

Priceless.

UPDATE, July 16, 2010:

After days of Mark Belling talking about the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ignoring the story of Barrett's use of an unregistered car, investigative reporter Dan Bice addresses why the story was tossed aside.

Weak.
