I don't read Daily Kos -- a radical, extremist, and often downright repulsive liberal blog. I can't handle a daily does of that stuff. It's not healthy.
However, I did read a piece written by Bob Owens on Big Peace. He calls attention to a particularly disturbing post at Daily Kos.
It's sick.
The Daily Kos blogger accuses Americans of bigotry if they stand in opposition to the mosque at Ground Zero. Beyond that, the blogger displays a truly warped view of the 9/11 attacks.
...a new CNN poll that shows that 68% of the nation opposes the construction of the community center in Manhattan. The question asked was about a mosque which I find a little misleading, and it used the inflammatory “Ground Zero” name for the site of the Twin Towers, but that is not really the point. This new data shows a couple of things that we know already to be true. First off, the majority when asked their opinion will almost always be against the rights of a minority. This is a particular hot issue because of the 9/11 attacks where carried out by Muslims, but it is to be expected even if that were not the case.
Muslims are only a small minority in the United States, with somewhere between 1.3 million and 7 million of our citizens being practitioners of this faith. This makes Muslims between .3% and 2.1% of the over all population. However world wide the followers of Islam are closer to 25% of the planetary population.
Given that they are such a small minority in this nation, it is odd that so many of our fellow citizens see them as such a threat. Yes, the 9/11 attacks were horrific, but they were more about optics than actual harm. The economy was already taking a hit before the Twin Towers fell. The reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion. While the loss of even a single life is to be condemned and the devastation these deaths caused the families of those killed, more than this number of teens are killed every year in car crashes. These are also tragic losses but we do not make the kind of high profile issue of it that the 9/11 attacks are.
The 9/11 attacks "were more about optics than actual harm"?
WHAT?
The destruction of the World Trade Center has not been boosted out of proportion. How could something so horrible and so devastatingly destructive be exaggerated?
Absolutely nauseating.
I don't understand how one could be so out of touch with reality. The sad fact is there are people in this country who buy into that line of thinking.
As far as the bigotry accusations go, that's a typical liberal technique, one that Obama and the Democrat leadership frequently employ. Although libs often disparage the characters of people they disagree with, the repeated application of such insults makes the practice no less offensive.
I'm sick of being called a racist and a bigot and a hater.
What's especially disturbing is that so many Leftists adhere to the drivel spewed by this blogger on Daily Kos. Elected officials associate themselves with the website.
The blog on Russ Feingold's official campaign website actually includes the radical Daily Kos on its blogroll.
Why would Feingold want to cozy up to Daily Kos?
Probably because he believes the Leftist radicals can help him. Possibly because he agrees with the opinions expressed there.
But certainly most Wisconsinites aren't on board with the views expressed on Daily Kos.
Of course, Feingold isn't like most Wisconsinites. Does he share the view of the Daily Kos blogger that the 9/11 attacks "were more about optics than actual harm"? Does Feingold believe that "the reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion"?
Does Feingold consider opposition to a mosque at Ground Zero to be rooted in anti-Islam bigotry?
I don't know, but I do know he gives the Leftist fringe Daily Kos his stamp of approval.
Ron Johnson most definitely does not.

Being called a "bigot" and a "hater" has become a badge of honor showing that you have won the argument against a leftist. Because it is only when progressives have lost that they throw out silliness like this.
What is sad is that there is still some racism in this country and using those terms in this manner dilutes and makes more subject to dismissal true claims of racism. But the left has always been willing to throw over minorities at the drop of a hat.
