Nancy Pelosi: Jesus and the Right to Life

Nancy Pelosi is such a hypocrite.

She exploits her Catholic faith when it benefits her politically. When the Church is at odds with Pelosi's policy positions, she's mum.

Pelosi is radically pro-abortion. She voted against the ban on partial-birth abortion.

From CNSNews:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), a Catholic, publicly stated earlier this year that she had a duty to pursue policies “in keeping with the values” of Jesus Christ, the “Word made Flesh.” But at a press briefing last week, when reminded of this statement, Pelosi declined to say when Jesus got the right to life.

“Whenever it was,” said Pelosi, “we bow our heads when we talk about it in church, and that’s where I’d like to talk about that.”

Later, when asked in writing through her press secretary whether the speaker believed Jesus had a right to life from the moment of conception, the press secretary responded: “The speaker answered the question. Thanks.”

...The Catechism of the Catholic Church discusses Christ’s divinity from His conception. It states, “Christ's humanity has no other subject than the divine person of the Son of God, who assumed it and made it his own, from his conception.” (466)

The Catechism also states, “From its conception, the child has the right to life.” (2322)

Clearly, Pelosi does not live her faith. As a powerful elected official, she has the opportunity to protect the unborn, the weak and vulnerable. She doesn't take it.

Pelosi dodges her supposed Catholic beliefs. She's a champion of the Culture of Death.

How can she do that? Why be Catholic if she is so adamantly against the sanctity of life?

In case you forgot, religious beliefs play no role in this country, however much you'd like it to be a Christian theocracy. Many people, including the Founders, were
a-religious---but you folks don't know enough about the Constitution to know that Maryland (Pelosi's home-state where her father is in politics) was formed as a haven for Catholics; Pennsylvania was a refuge 'for all faiths'. Jesus is a *personal* *religious* icon and not part of any political debate. It's often called 'freedom of religion'. While you may have read the First Amendment
you certainly do not understand it.

Yeah, right.

On this blog, I push for America to be a "Christian theocracy."

Provide proof to back up your statement.

With all due respect, you need to brush up on U.S. history and the Constitution.
