Bristol Palin and Jay Leno (Video)

David Letterman has been taking swipes at Jay Leno this week.

Only two days after mocking [Leno] on his 17th anniversary at CBS, [Letterman] returned to his favorite subject Thursday with some sly swipes at the rivalry that took place between Leno and Conan O'Brien earlier this year.

What did Letterman like best about that? "I loved that it has nothing to do with me," he quipped.

Then he proceeded to skewer Leno for projecting an average-Joe image despite his luxury automobile collection. "Leno has more cars than Hertz," he said. "A regular guy with 600 cars--explain that!"

Could Letterman be sweating the fact that Leno has been soundly beating him in the ratings all summer even as "The Tonight Show" experiences record audience lows?

It must have really sent the spiteful Letterman over the edge when Leno had Bristol Palin as a guest on his show Friday. Letterman is positively obsessed with Sarah Palin and he certainly is obsessed with Leno.

From the Associated Press:
Bristol Palin said she didn't think twice before waltzing into "Dancing with the Stars," though she's barely danced in her life.

In an appearance Friday on NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," the 19-year-old daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she learned about the invitation through a text message and signed within a week to appear on the new season starting Sept. 20.

Leno asked if she had gone to her high school prom. Palin replied "No, I was pregnant!"

That pregnancy put her in the spotlight during her mother's campaign for vice president in 2008. She had son Tripp that year, and recently she called off her re-engagement to Levi Johnston.

Here's video of the complete interview.
