Post-Labor Day Barnstorm
WAUKESHA, Wis. - September 7, 2010 - Mark Neumann is adding a polka band and a yellow school bus to the campaign as he kicks off a post-Labor Day barnstorm of Wisconsin.
With the primary election just days away, Neumann has announced a 'Freedom Tour' of 12 Wisconsin cities. The public and press are invited to meet up with Mark at any stop along the way.
"On September 14, folks will begin to decide the best course for Wisconsin's future, and that choice is clear. I spent 26 years building a business that has created hundreds of jobs," Neumann said. "I've written a conservative 210-page plan for Wisconsin's future that shows how we’ll cut spending, cut taxes, create 300,000 jobs, and get rid of the career politicians with term limits.
"My campaign has been about being accessible and accountable to the people of Wisconsin - not special interests in Milwaukee or Madison. That's why I've held 43 town halls and 80 'Main Streets' across Wisconsin so voters can hear my conservative message firsthand and ask me any question they want.
"This Freedom Tour will continue that tradition. It's not what career politicians do - but I'm not a career politician."
The Freedom Tour will feature a yellow school bus with supporters, a polka band - the Conservatones - and the well traveled Freedom Express.
Lee Sherman Dreyfus started this Wisconsin tradition with a yellow school bus and band of his own in 1978, when he defeated the establishment to become Governor.Wednesday, September 8

I really wish that Neumann would drop that "career politician" stuff. It's kind of dishonest. It's not as if Neumann has never held elected office.
Furthermore, I assume that when he ran against Russ Feingold for the U.S. Senate Neumann tried his best to win. I assume he wanted to go to Washington and represent Wisconsinites.
Neumann wanted a political career. The reason he isn't a "career politician" is because he lost.
When Neumann continuously uses the label "career politician," I'm reminded of his failure.
Neumann isn't the anti-establishment candidate he's making himself out to be.
