Tom Barrett, Pants on Fire - PolitiFact Wisconsin

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is drawing attention to the fact that Tom Barrett has PANTS ON FIRE!

Very surprising.

PolitiFact Wisconsin declares this Barrett claim to be a flaming lie:

"Under Tom Barrett’s leadership, violent crime in Milwaukee has decreased by over 20% -- to its lowest levels in more than 20 years."

Tom Barrett on Tuesday, September 21st, 2010 in a statement on campaign web site

Maybe the Journal Sentinel and Journal Broadcast Group don't want to be seen as the Tom Barrett hacks that they are.

Maybe they're a little embarrassed about the revelations of them being in collusion with the Barrett campaign.

Whatever the motivation, Barrett is twisting the violent crime statistics to come up with an outrageous claim.
