Favre Photos and Voicemail

Viking Brett Favre's wish has been granted. He gets Randy Moss.

Isn't that special?

Yes, it is.

But the Favre-Moss teaming is getting upstaged a wee bit by Deadspin.

Show Me the Crocs!

Deadspin may be ready to publish with what it claims to be photo text messages of Brett Favre's penis, sent to New York Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger.

Yes, the infamous Crocs-shot story has returned.

...The pictures were never published, prompting howls from media critics. But is all that is about to change?

Deadspin says it's ready to show the world what it says Sterger saw on her cell phone: "We have MySpace messages, voicemails, and -- yes -- those photos, all apparently sent by Favre to Sterger."

The Village Voice reports that Deadspin editor A.J. Daulerio contacted Sterger to warn her that he would be publishing on Thursday everything a third party had given him.

...The potential scandal is perfectly timed as sorts writers are buzzing about Randy Moss returning to the 1-2 Vikings in time for a showdown with the Jets Monday night. And Favre sandwiched a miserable year with the Jets in between his years with the Packers and now the Vikings.

A.J. Daulerio is the author of the post.

He seems to want to provide justification for spreading the slime, suggesting a sort of noble motivation to share the "evidence."

We've seen far too many supposedly family-oriented and upstanding professional athletes whose off-field behavior contradicts their well-manicured public persona. If Sterger is right, Brett Favre really is like a kid out there.

So is it Favre or not?

Based on Favre's (aka "Screaming Lord Byron") non-answer and his manner, I'd say what Daulerio is offering is the real deal.

Favre's got his hands full? I suppose that's true.

When asked about the allegations, why didn't Favre simply say they're false?

Why isn't Favre suing the Deadspin guy? Why would Favre allow his character to be besmirched so unfairly if that's what's happening here?

Who knows?

More importantly, who cares?
