Tom Barrett and Government Takeover of Health Care

Tom Barrett, aided by the Democrat-Union-Media Complex, is running a disgraceful, "Pants on Fire" disinformation campaign about his position on health care.

The reality is simple: Tom supports ObamaCare. ObamaCare is government-run health care. It's a step toward a
single payer system, meaning a government takeover.

Here's Obama talking about his health care agenda:

OBAMA: I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.

And for your entertainment, here's Obama caught in a flat-out lie:

OBAMA: I have not said that I was a single payer supporter....

The point is ObamaCare IS a government takeover of health care. That's the plan. Period.

Barrett supports ObamaCare.

From the Capital Times, August 31, 2010:

Unlike his opponents, Barrett touts his support of the federal health care reform bill. For those who call for its repeal, he says he has a few questions.

"Why do you want to take health insurance away from a sick 3-year-old who may now, for the first time, be able to have health insurance?" Barrett asks. "Or why do you want to take health insurance away from a 23-year-old woman who has diabetes but wants to go to college?" Under the reform bill, children with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied insurance, and single adults ages 22 to 26 can remain on their parents' insurance plan.

Clearly, Barrett, like Obama, is trying to deceive the public.

Yesterday's fundraising e-mail from Kris Barrett included an amazing lie:

Unlike Scott Walker, my husband firmly believes that personal, private health care decisions are best made by women, families, and doctors -- not the government.

That is absolutely false.

OBAMACARE IS GOVERNMENT INTRUSION IN OUR PRIVATE HEALTH CARE DECISIONS.

It's an assault on the private sector and the sort of medical innovation that has saved countless lives in our country and around the world.

FACT: Barrett supports big government determining our health care choices, making life and death decisions.

Another FACT: "In 1993, then Congressman Tom Barrett co-sponsored Hillary Clinton's plan to take over our nation's health care system. The plan was so overreaching that it cost Barrett's party their majority in Congress that year."

Barrett and his "willing partners" in the media should be ashamed for putting out these falsehoods.

Barrett should have the character to STAND UP for his principles. He believes in government-run health care. He's on the record.

It's wrong for him to lie about that.
