House Reads Constitution Aloud, Disruption (Video)

While members of the House of Representatives read the Constitution of the United States, a woman in the gallery was arrested for disrupting the proceedings.

From the Courier-Post:

A woman declaring President Obama was not born in the U.S. was arrested today for disrupting the House's first-ever reading of the entire Constitution.

Rep. Frank Pallone, D-NJ6, had begun reading the section of the Constitution requiring the nation's president to be a citizen born on U.S. soil.

"No person, except a natural-born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President," Pallone began late this morning.

"Except Obama! Except Obama!" cried a woman, dressed in red.

"Help us Jesus!" she said as security escorted her from the observers gallery."

"Neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of 35 years, and been 14 years a resident within the United States," Pallone concluded.

Though Republicans attending the reading outnumbered Democrats about two to one, the recitation itself was a bipartisan affair, with members from both parties taking turns reading passages.

I wonder about the woman's agenda. Is she really a birther or someone posing? In any event, I'm glad she was arrested.
