When Scott Walker defeated liberal Tom Barrett to become governor, it was definitely Wisconsin's gain. However, that tremendous victory was an enormous loss for Milwaukee County government.
Replacing Walker is a tall order.
The Packers' incredible postseason and the blizzard have sidetracked the primary election for Milwaukee County Executive. That's a problem with the primary just days away.
Another problem, besides general lack of interest in the race, is the field of candidates.
Chris Abele, a fringe Leftist, is bombarding the airwaves with misleading ads, trying to sell himself as a centrist.
Disaster.
Another candidate, Milwaukee County Board Chairman Lee Holloway, has a campaign video on YouTube that aims to convince voters he's a mutant creature, the monstrous Godzilla.
Bizarre.
In the video, Holloway tells voters he's not a bum. He's not a slum landlord. He tells of the pain he experiences when his kids read these negative things about their dad in the newspaper or on the Internet.
But Holloway reassures people that he "pulls himself up" and keeps fighting. Then, he gets momentum and he becomes "really a fighter."
As the dramatic music swells, Holloway says he may be down for a moment, but then he's back up. He likens himself to Godzilla being attacked by the military. The monster goes down below the surface of the water only to reemerge stronger than ever.
Watch the video.
This is so odd.
Godzilla?
How can Holloway possibly think that's a good image?
"Hey voters, think of me as Godzilla, a mutant creature. Support me."
That's what Milwaukee County needs, an executive like Godzilla.
Godzilla terrifies the population and leaves a path of death and destruction.
Vote for Godzilla.
Really weird.
A Chris Abele Leftist or a Lee Holloway Godzilla serving as Milwaukee's county executive is the stuff of a horror movie.
