Bishop William Lori comments on what some consider the Obama administration's war on Catholics.
According to Bishop Lori, our religious freedom is in danger.
"We certainly are experiencing right now some immediate and palpable threats to religious freedom."
From FOX News:
A series of new laws that go against the values presented in the Catholic religion, including a suggestion in the health care reform law that a Catholic hospital may need to provide contraception or perform an abortion, have some complaining that the president and his administration are anti-Catholic.
Bishop William Lori, Chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, joined Fox and Friends to react. He said that while he’s engaged in a dialogue with the administration, “We certainly are experiencing right now some immediate and palpable threats to religious freedom.”
He went on to say, “Catholic hospitals, catholic charities, our schools, provide first-rate services, and I believe it’s the duty of government to accommodate our religious beliefs and convictions and allow us to perform those services according to our own light, even when we are engaged in a government contract.”
