Regan Cowan would like to kill Governor Scott Walker.
From the MacIver News Service:
A death threat against Governor Walker was removed from Facebook on Monday, almost three full days after it was initially posted.
“Earlier this morning, Capitol Police became aware of an online death threat directed towards Governor Walker,” said Chief Charles Tubbs in a statement issued this afternoon. “Capitol Police takes any threat directed towards those who visit or work in the Capitol seriously, and Capitol Police investigators have identified and interviewed the responsible individual. Capitol Police does not generally comment on specific security issues.”
Tubbs issued the statement after an inquiry made by a MacIver News Service reporter.
“Rather than recall him… Can we kill him instead? Just curious,” wrote Regan Cowan on the Recall Walker Kick Off Rally event page on Facebook Friday afternoon.
When someone responded with “He’s signed a bill allowing conceal to carry IN the capitol…..Someone just might get away with it!!!” Cowan then posted: “I’m game.”
Regan Cowan is an idiot.
You don't post online that you'd like to kill the governor of Wisconsin.
It amazes me that fools, especially those with a deranged violent streak like Cowan, post such comments on the Internet, as if they're in a private forum.
What one writes online is public, for the world to see. Even when one accounts for Facebook and Twitter and blog privacy settings, there still is a cyber-trail when threats are made.
IT'S PUBLIC.
Media Trackers has discovered some interesting facts about Cowan.
On Monday, the MacIver News Service reported that a death threat had been made against Governor Scott Walker on a recall Walker Facebook page. The page was advertising the upcoming Walker recall kickoff rally hosted by We Are Wisconsin, one of the leading leftwing conduit groups that channeled millions of dollars in out-of-state money into the summer recall elections. Regan Cowan, a Dane County resident, was the one who made the threat. Shortly after the threat was brought to light, the comment was deleted from Facebook.
Cowan, who suggested that Walker be killed instead of recalled, said that she was willing to make use of the state’s new concealed carry law to carry out her idea. Her personal Facebook page was unavailable Tuesday morning and an initial search of Facebook did not reveal any other comments made by Cowan. Media Trackers did, however, review Ms. Cowan’s court records and found that she has a long history of civil and criminal issues.
In her record, which spans 25 different incidents, Cowan has pled guilty to two felony charges. The first one came in 2003 when she failed to report to jail, a Class H felony. The second one came in 2007 when she was found guilty of committing forgery, also a Class H felony.
Along with her felony in 2003, Cowan was found guilty five different times in incidents ranging from twice being found in possession of drug paraphernalia to damaging property, and then disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle on a revoked license. Perhaps one of the more disturbing cases came in 2004 when Cowan was involved in a hit and run incident that took place while she was driving with her license revoked.
This is scary.
Cowan is more than an idiot. She's a criminal.
Now she can add threatening to kill the governor of Wisconsin to her long list of civil and criminal "accomplishments."
Way to kick off the Recall Walker effort!
Cowan is the face of the movement.
Nothing appeals to the good people of Wisconsin like death threats.
