Target and Union Protesters - Pittsburgh

I shop at Target. If a mob of union protesters descended on the store while I was there, it would do absolutely nothing to win me over. I would be seriously pissed off.

Watch union thugs disrupt shoppers at Target in Pittsburgh.

Video.

From the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

On the day before they're supposed to clear out of a Downtown park belonging to The Bank of New York Mellon Corp., about 350 members of Occupy Pittsburgh marched on Saturday through Larimer and East Liberty, targeting several businesses.

The protesters briefly blocked the Penn Avenue entrance to Bakery Square yesterday afternoon before marching into the Target store in East Liberty about 3:15 p.m. Chanting as they entered the store, they said they're protesting to bring attention to low-paying jobs at corporate businesses in the city's East End neighborhoods.

"We want full-time jobs with benefits in our community when you use our taxes to build our store," shouted protester Calvin Skinner, 38, of Homewood.

The state and federal governments provided $14 million for site preparation of the Target store, and Allegheny County supplied $2 million in tax increment financing to upgrade the road system around the store.

Bemused customers smiled and took pictures of protesters, who stayed in the store for about five minutes, then left peacefully as Pittsburgh police monitored them. There were no arrests made inside the store.

I don't believe all Target customers were "bemused."

If I had small children with me, I wouldn't have been smiling.
